This is super common with japanese resellers. They all list identical listings and basically act as middlemen for a hefty fee. Yeah, I've seen that every time I've tried to buy Japanese products. Happened to me last when I was hunting for an Edwards E-Scythe at the beginning of last year, it was a pain in the ass navigating through that crap.

How are other Daemoness customers finding comms with Dylan at the moment? I emailed him at Christmas to ask how things were going but he didn't reply, and I tried again last Monday by replying to an email he sent me a year ago, where he was talking about things getting back to normal and "info and pics soon" (the last I heard from him), but he hasn't replied to that either. I was using the [email protected] email address.
I noticed he hasn't posted anything on Instagram or Facebook since December either, so curious to know whether anyone else has heard anything?

This thread is inactive since march and I sent one message for the fourth anniversary of my order last November with no answer, the last message I have from him is from Jun 30, 2020, he said, your message is complicated I will answer tomorrow... he never did XD.
You are not alone, the man is just busy so let's be patient, if you ask for a refund he may answer for real. He certainly don't have any issues or we would be aware about it.
The top is that he re-opened the order book on the official site :

Their reaction was really top notch, nice and trust worthy with ad hominem and all the stuff, I laughed a good time) that's the word, just trust the man, he will get in touch with you when he will be ready for you, just get a good skype setup till then and think/dream about your build just as us all.

Honestly I get the total opposite reading of it. That order book shouldn't be open when we're like 7+ years deep in the queue. I hope it doesn't mean he needs new deposits to continue current orders.
That's probably what it is.
I'm sure it stings, but it beats the alternative: the business folding leaving nothing, which is usually how this all goes.
I will say, anyone putting an order in now is a damn fool. I'm sure some moron will though.

There is nothing on the Daemoness Facebook or Instagram accounts about the order book being open. No posts there since December.
There is a post last summer about working on a huge batch of guitars. That would have steady small batches of guitars sent off for lacquer at different times so there would be a steady stream of complete guitars going out this year if it all went to plan. If people who ordered in 2017 haven't had their builds started yet then the build queue is still quite long. I don't know when he opened and closed the books so there are a few years where he wasn't taking orders.
I'd like to think that's an error about the books being open. We all know on this site that it is not a good sign when a builder needs fresh deposits to finish previous builds. Dylan also said he wasn't offering custom guitars anymore once the back log is taken care of.

I m pretty sure the order book is not open, this picture is there in his website for few years now and i guess he didn't bother to change it, the same way he does not bother to reply to his clients. Let's not forget there are people with deposits in 2015-2016 that have not seen their guitars yet.

I took a peak at the website's file system and that 'Order Book Now Open' photo is in a content folder titled '2018' along with all the other pictures on the 'Order' page. If you check the Wayback machine, it confirms that the page is unchanged from its first index in November 2018 until its most recent index in late 2021. Moreover, that Order page didn't exist until a website resign dated to around the same time as that page's creation, as the old site (seen circa January 2018 here) had a 'Custom Order' page instead, which had a different URL.
My guess is that the order book is not open and it's been so long since anyone here's looked at Dylan's website that we all just forgot that image was there

Do you mean just the first deposit, or the second payment when it's time to choose woods? I paid the first deposit in Nov 2016 then the second in Nov 2019 but since then nothing apart from a reply from Dylan in April 2021 saying how things were back to normal, "info and pics soon", etc.. I know "soon" is not very specific but I hoped it meant something less than a year.
I've just sent him a reminder that he hasn't replied to my polite enquiry from 2-3 weeks ago but I'm not very optimistic that I will get a reply. I will keep posting here with any developments or, more likely, about the lack of them.

First deposit. Paid that back in July of 2017. All my communication back then was with Barnes I should note. I haven't had any communication with Dylan directly.
I was only in contact with him for the deposit and then a video call like 4 years later. They promised more video calls, but that didnt happen. Not that I mind

It's pretty apparent over the years that the queue does not move predictably. There are some instances back in this thread where it also doesn't seem to follow "first come, first served".
Friend and I put down first deposits in Summer 2018. I have since bailed (and did receive a refund). My friend checked in through Instagram back in Jan 2022 and Dylan told him that his build is still years away. No further discussion since Summer 2018.
