This just popped up on Instagram:
Welp I guess Dylan changed his mind about doing basses and longer scale lengths now
That's a sweet bass! What is that first word above Daemoness on there? I can't read it. Is this like a different line of Daemoness now, like Squire to Fender, or Epiphone to Gibson or something?
It's a build for an endorsee...V'gandr is the bassist for Norwegian Black Metal outfit Taake.
Oh, It all makes sense now : ) I've always heard they'd never do the mass production thing, but I secretly was kind of hoping they did so I could get my hands on a Cimmerian 7 : )
He mentioned that he was going to start making basses a while back. I remember asking him about it on instagram months after he first said it, and he told me that it was still in the works. I had almost forgotten about it at this point.
For those of you not on Instagram, these new builds were posted up about 2 weeks ago:
But where are the pics of the inlays??
For Daemoness, these are very unusual specs.
That quilt Daemoness is so nice.
It might be heresy to say, but the inlays are usually the only thing I dislike about a daemoness?!?!?!
BURN THE HERETIC
I tend to agree with this for about half the builds i see...the roses and hand that were just posted above do nothing for me. I think the crazy inlays are more acceptable when they are combined with a custom illustration or theme that's on the body of the guitar.
That hue of amber is gorgeous. Thick top, too.
Anything that uses the "putty" type inlay, like the flower above, or the whole hand, basically devalue it to me. There's a lot of work there no doubt, but it just never looks "clean" to me. The marquetry inlay was incredible though. So like on the above mega-quilt one, if that had the marquetry inlay, that would be an A+ guitar to me.
