This is one of the finer examples of stereo chorusing I have found.

Anyone have other examples please submit them.
At the present I'm wondering what rack mount one could use to operate two 100 watt stacks to achieve this sounds quality.
I would appreciate any polite/civil responses.

Roland Dimension D or Boss DC-2 is the sound of perfect chorus to me.

It's a stereo widening effect without the 'warbling' of modulation.

Gallien Krueger is another favorite of mine.
I had two 250ml's and thought the built in chorus was just about right.

I mentioned the GK 250 ML on another forum.
I feel this is the finest example of stereo chorusing. I don't recall if it had to lines out though.

Slim chances of ever getting your hands on one, however Fulltone has been working on a replica for....uh, a while.

I'll also add the Boss HR-2 Harmonist pedal.

With all the knobs at noon, it made a fantastic chorus sound!

    Gotta add another one.

Don't know why it popped in my head, but the old Zoom 9002 had a fantastic chorus too.
And just a kick ass preamp/processor to boot.

The Boss PS-3, the bassist form Isis uses one for deep bass chorus.

I have to agree with the Gallien Krueger stuff... I owned the 100mpl, the 2000cpl and the 250rl at one point and LOVED the choruses on all of these units (and the compressors too!).

I saw a Roland JC-55 2x12 and got to play it for a hot second, but it's chorus seems very similar to the GK stuff...

Oddly enough, I dug the snot out of the ADA MP-1 chorus too.

I have yet to find that sort of 'harsh' stereo separation with any other chorus... I miss it!!

Just a tad older than the 80s... but still a knockout Chorus! Although in this case, it spreads the signal dry on one side and effected on the other. It still creates a huge stereo image that has been heard on thousands of albums.

Did GK ever make a 100 watt rack mount or head that did stereo chorusing?

They made the SEL 2150. The power amp section could be split for stereo imaging.
That said, they are quite rare nowadays... You'd probably have better luck finding a preamp and using a different power section.

A link for one on sale? Not at the moment. I would set up an alert in eBay and see if anything pops up.

Oh - I just knew about these and did a search for the pics in Google. I used to have the preamp years and years ago. I am speaking from experience! Ha.

Ha! I have that Iron Maiden ad hanging on my wall in my office!!

I might try messing around with my Rocktron Xpression to see if I can get that huge stereo separation (dry on one side, effected on the other). Never thought to give that a go....
