It's a work in progress, but it's steadily coming along. Got it about 2 days ago, so here we are! The start of my HP Lovecraft sleeve:

Thanks for all the kind words, guys! I'm putting Nyarlathotep, Dagon, and a special portrait of the man himself tying it all together :)

Damn, I always wanted to do a Lovecraft sleeve. Jealous. I've got a Dore half sleeve and Schenck half sleeve - both done by Tim Kern though, so no complaints here!

I love ink, though modesty and possibly being banned prevents me from posting photos of mine.

So, here's a question for those who have been tattooed pretty frequently, or anyone who is a professional tattoo artist:
Why was I bleeding so much when getting this done? The only thing I can think of is that it was the workout supplement (Arnold Iron Cuts) that thinned my blood. I just want to make sure that I'm not ripping myself off by not keeping the color from bleeding out. (looks like some ink has fallen out in certain areas)

Hard to say as all you mention is the supplement, and I'm not familiar with it. I have 16 tattoos and the tattoo artist that did most of mine was my girlfriend at the time and we were together for 3 years (lived together for 2). Bleeding is usually the result of anything that thins the blood, which you obviously know already and mentioned. Alcohol and aspirin are the two most common items people would take before a tattoo and not tell the tattoo artist. If she knew someone was drinking she'd ask to reschedule or at the very least if the person insisted on getting it done then she'd tell them that she won't do any touchup's for free and that they would have to pay.

You can also bleed if the artist just goes too deep, but you'd likely know it was too deep because it would be noticeably more painful and you’d have a lot of scarring (raised/bumpy areas) where he did the tattoo.

Lastly, using petroleum based treatments like Bacitracin in the tattoo for the healing process can leech out ink or cause it to spread slightly. I'm not a tattoo artist and they are all different in their opinions but when I got my last tattoo in Hawaii the artist was extremely adamant that I do NOT use Bacitracin, A&D, or anything on it for the first 2 days and to only wash it with moisturizing soap. Then after 2 days start using scent free moisturizing lotion like Lubriderm (which my old tattoo instructions called for using after the first 3 days of Bacitracin) twice a day. He said Bacitracin and A&D is outdated and bad advice. I know the proper process can be argued till people are blue in the face, but I'll say the Hawaii tattoo artists' instructions worked great, and the ink held in better than any of my previous tattoos. So I think he might have a valid point about the problems with petroleum based products on tattoos for healing.

What process were you given to take care of the tattoo during healing?

Rev, I was told to not take the bandage off for an hour, and to use A+D for three days, then unscented lotion for the next week.
It's been a while since I've gotten tattoos, (and I'm also somewhat of a hypochondriac) so I was really paranoid about it getting infected. I would wash it twice a day with anti-bacterial soap THEN apply the lotion.
I forgot how warm tattoos feel after you get them, and my brain immediately went to infection.

Ok, had to move it to the computer. But this is what it looks like now.
Again, I bled a lot from when I got it, and I may have put too much lotion on it, but any input is welcome. At the end of the day, I'll have to get it touched up, I think.

It looks like an ok heal to me, but I will say that more black in it and a bolder outline will let it age more gracefully.
