This thing is a roaring BEAST of a preamp. It came out sounding darker in the video than in reality (maybe its just my speakers, you guys let me know) but it has plenty of high end. I actually had to turn down my presence knob (which is great because I usually have it between 3 oclock and dimed for the Tight Metal and R2) and really this is the first preamp I've tried into the MosValve where I thought "wow I actually have enough low end". No need to break out the Depth Finder at all for the highs or the lows.

The concept behind this preamp is its basically two Orange Dark Terror preamps in a box. Both channels are identical. The only difference between these preamps and the preamp in the Dark Terror (other than it being solidstate) is that the gain is split into pre-gain and post-gain. On the Darkterror the gain knob controls both at the same time but, Tim offered to split it up into two knobs for more control and I'm glad I did :) cool little feature.

And the overall experience with Tim was great. I feel like I asked for a lot and he delivered on all fronts. Pleasant guy to work with and got the job done on schedule despite the Canada postal crisis

That sounds awesome. Was this clip boosted? And is he planning to make more of these?

Oh yeah forgot to mention, yes it was boosted with an OD808X. I could do more clips not enough boosted

And if you commission one he will build it. Full custom shop so you could choose to do just one channel, different paint job, and a TRS jack for remote switching, etc.

Sounds killer! Have you experimented with 18v vs 9v?

I’ll try that today! The video was on 18 volts.

    dude. this sounds incredible!

for pre-amp pedals like this i always find that they sound better at 18V - more open and more dynamic range.

I live for custom jobs like this!
