This is one of the most popular Metalcore albums ever
I would go with Ocean Machine being Devins best solo work.
Off the top of my head:
Pretty much all of Bruce Dickinson's solo catalogue (save for 'Tattooed 'millionaire')... basically being known for Iron Maiden and all.
This. 'Physicist' is the better answer here.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say Gun'n'Roses Chinese Democracy.
Been listening to it again recently and have to say it's a bloody great album.
Sure, some songs are weaker than others.
It's also epically over-produced. But I like that in albums.
Oh lawd yes.
I love every single song off that album
I do really like that album. I think there's a few fillers on there and I have to skip You Not Me (and not import it for iTunes listening).
But it's got some real crackers on there. New Millenium. Hell's Kitchen. Hollow Years. Trial of Tears. All classic DT songs.
Mine too - in fact, it's my favourite album ever, bar none.
I think it's a little underrated though - people who know his SYL stuff or his DTP stuff often don't seem to know Ocean Machine, or hold it in quite as high regard. I think it definitely deserves to be, absolutely incredible album.
I'm seeing him tomorrow, his unplugged gig in London
Herbie Hancocks's Mwandishi era albums. Been listening to those a bunch lately.
I was actually listening to Summoning Redemption when I opened this thread. Pretty cool. Honestly though, that's their best.
Now about Thrice...I think The Artist In the Ambulance is their best. So much emotion in that record.
I actually think all of Thrice's albums (post-Vheissu, sorry guys!) are underrated in their own way.
While I don't think it's their best (Scenes From A Memory wins that award), it is VERY underrated. The only song that I can't categorize as at least "good" is You Not Me, and apparently that song in particular was subject to some serious meddling by the producer (hence why DT have self-produced all albums since). And from there, the only songs that I don't love are Hollow Years (this version anyway, the live @ Budokan version is what made me start listening to DT in the first place) and Burning My Soul. The second half of FII is just wonderful.
anthrax - volume 8
budgie - power supply
led zeppelin - in through the out door
most of machine head's early stuff
all of pantera's 80's out put.
that metallica one was just bad.
Katatonia - Last Fair Deal Gone Down
Opeth - Morningrise
Smashing Pumpkins - MACHINA/The Machines of God
Ulver - Lyckantropen Themes
Jesu - Pale Sketches
Pink Floyd - Animals
Van Halen - Fair Warning
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
System of a Down - Mezmerize
Thats funny cause I here all this hate over You not Me, but I have to say I don't get it. Its quite a good song, despite meddling. Hell I think it has a very good vocal performance as well.
