Why do boomers on forums sign their name at the bottom of their posts? Like dude, you have a signature as well as an avatar with a username next to it. Why do you insist on weirdly ending your posts like we are sending letters back and forth?
Dear CanserDYI,

I don't know.

Warm regards,
Bostjan

P.S. Incidentally, there is a boomer-aged person on another board I occasionally use who most often posts "I don't know" to threads as if she was personally being asked, instead of, you know, just not posting like everyone else who has nothing to add.

Oh my God, the number of people who answer Amazon product questions with "I don't know"... they must have gotten an email because someone posted a question about a product they've purchased before, and they think the person is asking them directly...it blows my mind.

My girlfriend's mom signs her text messages. And not, like, "Love, mom", but just her first name.

I'm amused by how much the instructions on packages of skincare products vary. Most things my wife and I have have very specific instructions, stuff like exactly where to apply the product, how often, how much and so on.

Then there's Tee Tree Oil - I got some "intensive scalp care" thing for xmas, and I seriously don't know what to do with it (as a shampoo or conditioner or before/after taking a shower... !?) because literally all it says is "if the product accidentally goes into your eyes, flush with cold water"

So, at midnight I woke up to my scheduled IV drip antibiotics and they measured my temperature as always. Well, it was 38°c (~36°-37° is normal body temp for you fahrenheit fellows) and even when I was feeling fine the hospital protocol calls for a corona test. Well, they dug my nose with a brushy stick, which felt lovely as always and I went back to sleep.

2,5 hours later I woke up when the nurse came to tell the test was positive and I must be moved to isolation. Hurray, this is just what I needed. I had an influenza before coming to hospital and had a very high fever for ten days, then had my toes removed and the leg operated second time and now, when it all began to seem good... Bam! Fucking corona virus.

Only one day to began rehabilitating my foot and this happens. I hope it doesn't affect the plans.

But hey, there is a funny side to all this. In the room where I was before there was an old geezer (79yrs old, no less), who was my closest bed neighbor and he was the one, who turned out to be corona positive in the first place. Well, he went off to a quarantine room by himself and of course I was then exposed to the virus. Well, I was moved to the closest quarantine room and now I am the bed neighbor to the same old geezer, who's snoring very loudly right now. So we've come full circle!

Hey, I am getting an acoustic some day. It's my xmas present and has nothing to do with this, but anyway...

At least my condition is very good right now. The fever did go down if my sweaty ass is to be trusted. When I got the positive corona test a saying came to my mind... When it rains, it pours. Got a timeline to prove it! Influenza 10 days, infected toe and amputation, my grandma died, corona. Hell of a way to end and start the year, I'd say

It sure will... It can't keep getting worse all the time, now can it? I don't think so. All in all this might have been much worse experience. And judging by the speed in which they took me in and operated my leg I think it might have been the end if I'd waited a bit longer.

A little update to my situation. Tomorrow I'll be going to the second surgery. They'll take a muscle and some skin from my left thigh and upgrade right foot with them. So I'll go and take a nap on the table in the morning and wake up at night. They said it's going to be a whole day ordeal, so I'm going to have a long and restful nap.

See you guys on the other side!

So... It was a 10 hour surgery and I was out of this world for like 24 hours straight. Now it's just laying on my back for a week. They've been checking in on my foot once an hour to ensure the circulation etc works properly.

Dear Jarmake,
Hey, what's up? not lot's here.
I'm a bit Late to the party but I was gonna ask that if you died to update your will to sell me back my old guitar. lol. jk.
Maybe you can get a robot foot and freak people out by having them smash it with a hammer or something.
If you did die at least we'd know you'd be happily living as a goat munchin' on grass in Nepal.
Just trying to lighten the mood. ; )

- Seriously, My god man, I'll be sending good vibes your way and wish a quick recovery for you. I can't imagine. At least it was toes and not something else. Pretty much anything else would've probably been worse to lose it seems.

Best wishes,

c7spheres
xoxoxo

p.s.

I agree, you should get at least an extra guitar out of this and at least a months vacation too, after recovery. Hide it in the medical bills. Billing code 666 !

If I die I'll make sure to take the guitar to the grave with me... ;)

Yes indeed, the situation would be way worse if I had lost my fingers or an arm or my penis... Well, maybe not the last one, since I already have two kids and when Beelzebub whispers into my ears and tries to entice me to sinful actions with my little weewee I just say "NO! My peepee is only made for breeding and not for dirty enjoyment!" so it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for the wishes and vibes, mate. I do actually get a bit of time off, since the doctor said I will be healing my leg at home until 2nd of april, if not longer.

Thank Jebus for Finnish healthcare system.

I've been looking into buying a new TV for a while now. Our current one still works just fine and I have zero complaints about the picture quality, even though it turns 10 years old this summer. IMHO 1080p is enough on a 47" when you're sitting as far away as I do. But that's the thing - 47" isn't enough for our living room. I guess I'm getting old too because I'm having a really hard time reading some of the texts in Cyberpunk 2077 for example unless I sit closer.

So anyway, the distance between the sofa and the TV is such that the optimal TV size would be between 65-80", and due to the size of the wall it'll sit on, a 70" would be perfect. 75" is too much, as then part of it would be behind a speaker or going over the wall, covering a bit of the doorway next to it, and I have suspicion that if I buy a 65" one I'll be constantly thinking "it could be a tad bigger". The thing is, all 70" TV's have suddenly disappeared!

Yeah, it's a slightly non-standard size, but still, a couple of weeks ago there were several from each of the major brands, and now there are none in the stores I'd consider ordering from.

Weird. I would've posted this in the first world problems thread, but it's not a problem yet because I don't intend on buying one just now. Gotta get a new sofa first

I thought I saw something similar - there was a 70-something-inch TV I had my eye on for a bit, then it suddenly disappeared from the store, and was never replaced.
