Here's my latest addition - Vola OZ 7 in Corvette Yellow aka sevenstring mango slurpie :D

It is awesome. The way this guitar feels in hand, plays and sounds is just amazing. Specification sheet just doesn't do it justice.

Smoothest neck I've ever touched. Very comfortable fretting experience - board and frets are impeccable. Plays in Drop A like a champ.
Vola's own pickups are clear and really sweet. Sound has a lush push in the midrange. I don't see any reason to swap these out unless going active. HSS configuration is wired in a very versatile way (split, parrallel, neck tap-in).

It's the "strattiest" guitar I've had and I really dig it. Round edge body definitely has it's own mojo going on with a booty cutaway and narrow horns. It just invites to play.

Looks great, I’ve seen a couple of Vola sixes pop up for sale semi-locally, and really wanted to check them out. What’s the neck profile like?
HNGD, love the colour!

What does the little button below the upper horn do?

Very comfy! I've played shreddy necks for the longest time until realizing that there is so much more out there. Round necks can be just as fast, but with added comfort. Competition wise, I think that Vola Modern C neck profile is somewhere between Ibanez Oval C (AZ) and Super Wizard D (RG). It's not as thick as AZ, but pleasantly rounder than RG.

What does the little button below the upper horn do?
It taps in the neck pickup no matter how 5-way switch is set. So you can have it always on if you prefer gutsy sound or tap in when extra beef is needed.

Congrats man , it's a beauty ! the only detail I have to deal with is the straight headstock and the small nut
Do the strings ring over the nut ? I can't understand why a so obvious luthery rule is flouted

Thanks!

Harp ring is not an issue to me because I always use fret wraps. But since you've mentioned it, seems that there is less ringing noise than on my other guitars with tilted reverse headstocks (without string trees).

What actually needs dampening is the spring area, but that's a common theme on any guitar with a trem. Trem springs will be shrink tubed.

The nut is set and filed really well. Tuning stability has been great so far. What could be the potential setback from size perspective?

Although yellow isn’t my color, that’s a sexy guitar. Congrats!

Beautiful guitar.

Was eyeing one of the shell pink OZ 7Ts and began talks with some US dealers of Vola, but then a specific Kiesel Delos 7 I've had my eyes on for years popped up for the right price mint so I had to jump on it. One day I'll get around to ordering the Vola though...

This is great timing. I've been eyeballing this model in vintage white (selling at 1,3k locally). How is the neck? I heard these have fat necks but they look pretty sweet.

Happy NGD!

Haha, I know the guitar you have in mind! The seller was too lazy to sell outside of Spain, so I ordered from Vola webshop with holiday discounts.

The neck is pure silk. Thickness wise, Vola's Modern C is super comfortable and should be thinner than Ibanez AZ 7. It still has some flatness in the middle, but edges are nice and round. I adjusted to it in a matter of hour or less. My FGN M7 J-Standard easily beats Ibanez RG Prestige fretwork. Vola OZ exceeds both. It does not have rolled edges like Ibanez J-Custom, but it's very smooth! Came with coated light strings (probably Elixir 9-54).

I'm actually super excited about Vola's high quality craftmanship and would like to try their Classic C neck profile (even thicker). Unfortunately none of the 7's have it. GAS is already hitting hard and I would like to try their OZ 7T models in Ocean Turquoise or Fire Mist Silver at some point.

Just go for it and post some NGD pictures ;) Would be cool to know about your impression of that roasted maple neck! There is also Vola Guitars Community page on Facebook that is small but seems growing.

I have some expenses piled up, but if doesn't sell quickly enough I might give it a swing. I'm not too fussed about the tortoiseshell pickguard, but maybe I could replace it for a white one later on. I really like their takes on modern Strats and Teles.
