Hi new member here! Just recieved my vigier today which i bought used but was in excellent condition in the listing. But as i was exciting checking it out i noticed it got damaged during shipping . Now im super sad
That's definitely going to "cost" $300+ in terms of used value now so you should definitely ask for that back. That aside, man those guitars are cool. Really want a rock art version.
Congrats! Bummer about the damage, but if it's any consolation it seems to be an easy sand/fill job that should be fairly cheap and quick to fix and should result in looking good as new. Definitely seek some compensation from the shipping service.
Sweet! Sorry to hear about the damage; but as others said, now you're free to rock the hell out of it (in all seriousness, I know this sucks though). I have a Vigier (GV Wood) and had another (Excalibur Ultra Blues). They're FANTASTIC guitars and, especially second-hand, are great value. Few brands have as much personality AND quality with their catalogue as Vigier does.
Total loss. You should send it to me. Serious answer: I usually fix stuff that small (on my own guitars) with a couple layers of the 'touch up' clear coat that they sell at the automotive store that you apply using a nail polish looking applicator. Tape off the area, apply and wait for it to cure (usually two or three coats), wet sand ~500,800,1000,1200,1500, peel off the tape and retape with more room (this is to blend in with the stock finish), polish with auto polish.
Superglue also works fine and cures quickly. a good sanding and buffing will make the repair invisible.
How did it get damaged. Was the box damaged? The case? That’s an odd spot to be damaged in shipping. I would bet that was there before shipping.
Bummer about the damage but I wouldn't bother fixing it if it were my guitar. Dents and scratches are inevitable, now it has CHARACTER
