Sup! Its been quite some time since I've had something to share, I'm glad this project is over so I can share my acheivements! I recently got done refinishing my first guitar, and Ibanez gio grx40, because it was just so hideous to look at; the color was some kind of metallic Grey/blue. It was awful, trust me. And also the neck was way too think for me, so I reprofiled it to a thicker wizard-esqu neck profile using a caliper and my premium neck profile. I know people say you're supposed to finish maple, but I left it raw after sanding/reprofiling and it just feels great. The neck feels like sliding on ice, it's just superbly smooth and comfortable. Pics! This is the original color. Ugly right? Yeah, when you've been looking at it for six years it is. Now for the makeover! My grandpa runs his own bodyshop (for cars) and has quite the assortion of paints and an enormous spray booth. So this was easy to pull off. I got the idea for this white/purple flip after seeing the sterling JP special edition that had the arctic white finish. Sadly we didn't have metal flake, but the purple pearl flip turned out great IMO! Btw, it goes without saying, but its obviously much more allureing in person because the purple is just so damn hard to capture!
