The WPs are doing exactly what I want them to do, thickening up the sound of the super light body. When I had a Boden, I put ionizer humbuckers in it and it still sounded like it weighed 2 pounds lol. Warpigs are so huge they have their own gravity, so they balance very well in this guitar. The ionizer single is only there to act as a hum canceler and volume boost to the tapped humbuckers, and it does just that.

I you havnt played a set of WPs yet, to my ears they aren't as high output as people seem to think, but they have a thickness to them that portrays high power. The highs are subdued and pretty round, think Eric Johnson's "1000 pound violin" type of tone. Despite that, these pickups are TIIIIIIGHT, so much so that I had to ease up on my noise gate for most of my patches. They're really something else. The only neg I have, and I feel this way about most bkp pickups, is that there are so many overtones present that I usually have to reel in my patch settings so that the fundimental tone is more apparent. In these pickups, I feel like that quality manifests itself in 'fuzziness' in the low end under distortion. They're still tight, but the lowest notes have some extra fuzz on them, like a tiny bit of fur or something. Makes the pickups grindy, but I'm used to that Dimarzio low end 'vibe'. Still, I havnt finished tweaking, a think when I am I'll have the low end that I want with a high end and balance that you do t get from most other pickups :yesway:

I can't remember if your KxK sold or not, but if you still have it, could we get a comparison picture of it with #49?

Congratulations man, that finish is gorgeous and I'm sure it plays like no other. Even the back looks incredible.

Have you ever had a washburn boden or played one?

If so, how do they compare?

You should try something headless and modern, Paul! I still have to get my hands on a guitar of yours.

Not sure if I've already said, but this strandberg is gorgeous. I want one too. :D
