I recently traded one of my Agile Interceptors for this thing. I really like it, despite not staying in tune very well. I figured that's a combo of the tuners and bridge. I read that the gotoh 510 fe fits this guitar. Does anyone know how true that is? I've always wanted a 7 with a non locking floating tremolo. The neck is probably the most comfortable I've played. In an affordable guitar at least. I love the flat black!
You can get some digital calipers for cheap and measure the distance between the post center to center. And then measure the diameter of the post. And then measure the pocket depth (body thickness) and trem block circumference. Line those measurement requirements with gotoh and see
I bet the actual culprit of the tuning stability issues is actually... Drum roll please... the nut! If it binds the strings the tuning stability is not going to be optimal. So check that first, before investing on better tuning machines and/or bridge.
I actually checked that first. It glides over the nut pretty well. I'll try a a graphite pencil for shits and giggles and see if that helps.
I actually like the stock pickups through my HD500X. I haven't tried it through my 6505mh yet. I'm using the Engl amp sim, through the xxl 412 cab sim, with the tube screamer sim in front. I'm coming from an 8 string with a 57-8 that I wasn't a huge fan of. I'm not typically a passive pickup person.
I see. The nut seems to be the one to blame 95% of the time, so I wanted to check if you did inspect it
Hey I appreciate it. I love the feedback and suggestions. I did use some graphite I had laying around to fix stuck locks. Didn't seem to help. Didn't hurt either lol.
