I bought this guitar for $400 off eBay about a month back and it was
stripped of all electronics. I replaced the tuners with Schaller locking tuners (very slight modification to make them work), put on some Dunlop straplock buttons, added a switchcraft jack and volume pot, bought a Cephius bridge pickup, and added a mini switch to wire up a coil split or killswitch when I decide what I would like to do. In all I think it costed me about $550 total. Not too bad for an upgraded Intrepid Pro 828 EB

If you can see I also made an insert for the intrepid case that is between the neck rest and the upper horn. This is to keep the body in place more securely.

That's nice figuring in the mahogany on the left wing there.

those nat finish intrepids didnt really catch my eye on the website, but some good outdoors photos like yours really show how beautiful they are! id totally forgot about the cepheus pups being 4 conductor. i just ordered some push pull pots for another gtr and fking forgot to get some for my intrepid. damn.

i might just wire mine for series/parallel as ive never tried that before and have only done the coil tap thing.

I cant stand actives anymore. I replaced the 808 in my other pro with a SD blackout and they dont compare to the passives.

I couldnt justify spending that much when I get a killer sound with the Cephius pickups, especially when I only spent $40 on it.
