Got it on sale. Should have waited for NAMM.
But I've wanted this guitar for quite awhile.
26.5 Ebony fret board. Nazgul and Sentient pickups.
Strings Ernie Ball 66 on the seventh and 10-46.
    Set to Drop A flat.
It was my first full set up I've ever attempted and it turned out good.
I got the 66 pretty tight a 68 might be in the future though.
Unless someone has any ideas for a .066 with more tension.
The 66 is the most the tuner will take without drilling and I'm trying to avoid that.

For the longest time I have been wanting one of the eight string Avengers like this. Have not been able to justify spending the money though. I really like the red accents, which is something I have seen other people not like so much. It looks good I think.

From what I've been led to understand, to increase the tension on the .066, you need to increase the break angle at the saddle and change the neck pitch accordingly to maintain your desired action-- easier to do on a bolt-on/TOM bridge than the set-through/Hipshot on the Blackjack.

Maybe some of the more experienced luthiers here could give you some proper pointers?

    Anyhoo, HNGD.

I actually played the avenger 7 blackjack through a 6505.
That's what pushed me into actually buying this one.
I didn't like the headstock on that avenger.
At home I'm currently playing through a Line 6 spider 75watt.
The only way I can get a tone I don't hate is with my mxe fullbore out front with the spider on clean. I still hate it after hearing the blackjack with a 6505.
The money I saved on this is going towards a 6505mh.
    I was saving for a KM7.
