Yea, these all came out more accurate / representative than my usual photos. I think it's because this style of staining is a very consistent thing visually -- you're not going to catch it at an angle where the figure disappears. Probably the most accurate photos are the one sideway against the couch -- that's not really strong light.

But I think this one is the most representative of why it's that way:

There's so many layers to the stain -- clearly there's a dark purple, a medium purple, a light pinkish, and an even lighter shade where that pink has been sanded off more. At that point, of course it pops, it's like how cosplayers seem to totally change the shape of their face with all the layers of makeup and contouring they put on.

Also some black, from the looks of it, but sanded WAY back.

Splits his time between two different continents throughout the year, buys a 'pomegranate' guitar, has a run-in with a shady seller from some frozen hellscape...are you sure this was just some Reverb flipper there, Persephone??

Wonderful photos, too! What a stunner. Even with so many boutique competitors these days, PRS might still have the best wood library and staining technique in the business. Top quality work they do over there.

Also, forgive me, but I have to give a shoutout to your flooring, which must have had like 84 layers of carpet on it over its history  Ken Lawrence recently built a rustic-looking Explorer for James Hetfield out of timbers from the original garage Metallica wrote Ride the Lighting and Master of Puppets in. Maybe send KL some floor planks and let him work his magic? Long wait, but it beats chasing around Hades and defeating his wily tricks!

Ah, the prophesy! Though I feel like even Hades would disclose a headstock ding, perhaps using some double-meaning in the listing language.

Ah yea, I live in a repurposed mill from the late 1800s, so all that metal in the flooring is from old factory shavings. I'd love to throw it into a KL, but I fear I'd lose my security deposit, and that hurts when it's added to the already exorbitant cost of another KL!

Hey, I also live in a re-purposed mill from the late 1800s. Only by re-purposed I mean "completely knocked down in the 1870s because the miller got drunk and fell in the workings" and then a house was built out of what was left.

Ken Lawrence accepts will housing materials. Tired of your kitchen splash panel? Your bathroom tiling got you down? Turn that shit into an explorer! I-800-345-KLKL!
