Hey guys ! You sharp stuff lovers ;)
Got some pointy stuff comin up these dayz. this is part 1 of 3.
Well sometimes at night before going to bed i surf on evilbay, you never know. You can find something you're looking after on a sudden.
I always wonder where all those people who have BC rich Ironbirds put them ...Under locking key ? or why they almost never put them on sale. An old one or even the Single Pu released some few years ago is hard to find..... And sometimes the dark side of the force is with you

Got this guy selling a Bc rich body and neck, unloaded, for .......80 euros when i looked at the auction ...
Yeah it's a chinese but at that price? I'll stop Gasing later (like everyone here i guess...:) )
Won the bid at 81 euros. So happy. This is a black and red bevels edition, bolt on neck.
too great to pass up anyways !!!!!!

So I had some EMG 81/85 left at home (could look great with the Holt combo for the red body match but....), just bought a Floyd rose special (yeah that cost me the same amount as the guitar and shipping, so 120 euros) some tuners i had left, perfect. Straplocks, just slodered everything with a Black switch I had in the spare box too and we're set !!!!
Very nice fretboard, tight wood, so sharp frets. some few ding but nothing bad , some touch up with black paint on the bigger horn and it's ok. headstock is pristine.

The neck is wide, very comfy (but all the bc rich i've had were comfy, really) and kinda think ibanez but wider. The guitar i really good playing sat down, and the horn doens't come in your chest like a mockingbird i had. Well , as for the EMG, they do the job, maybe she would deserve better but so far, it's fine.
Only little detail, fyi : The nut really made me scratch my head.
R3 is too small. R4 is better, as the screwholes match on the neck nut but it is still nor perfect yet in width. I works but you can feel a little gap from each side of the neck. it's no big deal but it doesn't make it 100% smoothly with the side of the neck
And more surprising, when i screwed my nut on, it was waaaaay too high from the fretboard. I had to sand almost the size of the sidewidth of the fretboard to lower it down and set the guiter properly. Like 3 or 4 mm almost !
Maybe Bc rich had a custom nut on those models. I wonder how given it's a chinese model so I doubt they'd spend a lot on those but hey...
Case is a thomann one for explo/V/ironbird. Fits like a glove !

Here are the pics, iphone sorry and the weather is pretty bad in paris right now so light ain't the best.......
Finally got an Ironbird !!!!!! ;)
    Coming soon: caparison orbit ;)
    Thx for reading

I find the red and black color combination and the body shape to work splendidly together. Congratulations on your success.

Ironbirds are the best shape BC Rich has ever put out. I've owned two of them before (still have one!)
