    Hi everybody,

I'm new to the forum, been following posts until now. Thought I'd share my Mayones guitars with you as I'm rather pleased with them myself. Short introduction: I'm the singer-guitarist in Oddland. We released our debut album "The Treachery of Senses" in May on Century Media.

So, I've had these guitars for a little while but still consider them new.

    Regius 6 Gothic
    - Mahogany body
    - Black ash matt top
    - Ebony fretboard
    - fixed bridge
    - 25.4'' scale
    - Dimarzio Crunch Lab / Liquifire pickups
    - 1x vol knob (ebony) & no tone
    - single coil switch

    Regius 7
    - Ash body
    - Dark red eye poplar matt top
    - Ebony fretboard
    - Fixed bridge
    - 25.4''
    - Dimarzio Crunch Lab / BKP Nailbomb Alnico
    - 1x vol knob (ebony) & no tone
    - single coil switch

These babies came set up pretty much perfectly. The build is beautiful and the carving of the body is pretty sexy. They play like butter. I experimented a little with the pickups for the 7-string, had the whole BKP nailbomb alnico set in there at first, but I felt the bridge PU was a little too "rough" for my taste, even though I was going for an organic sound. I was playing through a VH100R then, which doesn't give the most modern metal sound, as we know. Now I'm playing through a Laney Ironheart, so I might try the BKP in the bridge as well a some point. However, the Crunch Lab is avery nice pickup in my opinion, very very articulate, great attack, but still has some character, they have a little bit of that organic feel as well. The single coil doesn't work well at all with these pickups so I wouldn't recommend it in this combination. I wish I hadn't taken them on these. The sound is terribly hissy, and, well just not good at all. I never use the single coil setting. It's just a hassle, because I may accidentally turn the single coil mode on time to time.

As you might presume, the mahogany body gives more round, full sound, whereas the Ash body is just like chopping blocks, the sound is quite, well, modern. There's a certain "fuzziness" in the Regius with the mahogany body in comparison to the ash body that comes out with some amps (the less modern metal ones). For cleans I prefer the Regius 6, and its mahogany-sweetness ;)

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome! Yeah that eye poplar is very psychedelic ;)
I first got my inspiration here on the 25th anniversary model, just requested it in a slightly darker shade.

I guess I can't say the actual price I paid since there was some artist discount there, but I think it would have come at around 2100 - 2200 euros
with the usual 10% off retail with these specs (had crunch lab/air norton in there originally, bought the BKP separetely). Bought the beast here in Finland via sound-shop.

Holy shit. . . . Mayones GAS just hit me SO hard!

That red Regius 7 looks like a sea of blood. If I were to get that in a slightly darker red and mahogany body wings, I'd be set for live on guitars.
