edge pro and one piece neck, rarest 777 i think, only made in 2003
This one is from 2004 if the serial doesn't lie.

I’ve played Ibanez forever. When I played a UV777 a few years ago I was very shocked. One reason I stopped playing Ibanez and my JP7 was constant hand cramps from such thin necks after long playing sessions. As far as Ibanez goes, those are an absolute baseball bat neck….personally I’d sand it down a couple mm’s.
Yup. Very different neck from my old S7420.

Happy NGD @Emperoff did you clean the guitar up at all? I'd love to see before and after shots of that bridge (sans dirt, rust, and corrosion)

This was my dream guitar for years, so I guess it was a “don’t meet your hero’s” moment. I felt like it hampered my ability to play the instrument.

When I went to Austin a few months ago, a local guitar shop had a minty uv777 for the modest price of $4k :) I didn’t even ask to play it.
Later examples of this model had the parallel wenge strips...maybe those necks are thinner?

i had both, the one piece is thinner (still have it), but maybe it varies from guitar to guitar
the one piece is also narrower by 1-2mm

Ibanez Fandom website has all the answers for you guys. It's a fantastic source of information for Ibanez stuff:
Neck
Neck type:
1998–2002: UV
2003–2012: UV Prestige
Neck material:
1998–2004: 1-piece maple
2005–2012: 5-piece maple/ wenge

1993648mm/ 25½"48mm65mm19mm21mm430mmR/ 17"
UV1997[5]648mm/ 25½"48mm65mm20mm21.5mm430mmR/ 17"
1998–2002648mm/ 25½"48mm65mm21.5mm23mm430mmR/ 17"
UV Prestige2003–2004648mm/ 25½"48mm66mm19mm21mm430mmR/ 17"
2005–2011648mm/ 25½"48mm68mm19mm21mm430mmR/ 17"

So according to the site this one has the 66/19mm neck (the thinnest one). Lucky me!

I reference the wiki all the time but it's not flawless - it doesn't have the aforementioned info about the discrepancies in the RG7420/RG7620 series necks. They're all listed as RG7/Wizard-7 despite the pretty big differences in feel between the all maple necks and bubinga stripe necks.

Also this info would contradict Viginez's personal account of the wenge stripe neck being thicker than the all maple on the UV777P, regardless of the variations in the maple necks between 98-02 and 03-04.

In my experience, published specs do not always line up with real life measurements. For example, I've measured the fretboard radius on many guitars vs the supposed specs and they're often not consistent with each other.

Two necks built on the same line, at the exact same time, will not have the exact same measurements. You can try as hard as you like, look for the perfect year with the perfect specs, and still end up with the "wrong" neck. At the end of the day, you dont know what you got until you get a set of calipers onto it and take some numbers.

Very nice, congrats. I always wanted one of these with mirror pickguard and the piramids.

The post right above yours is a link to the FS thread, so that's your chance
