I have been playing it since I got it this afternoon and I haven’t been able to get the huge smile off of my face.

    Congrats!

After what feels like a million years, and tons of small tweaks, these things are still some of the best production 7s you can get.

    Congrats, that is SUPER sexy!

Love me some classic JP6 and JP7's. They are extremely comfortable.

I see you purchased it from Cosmo Music--love that store! When I was living in Toronto/GTA I would go there whenever I could.

Darn it Max, that’s exactly what I was thinking (when I said that in regards to the evolution of the JP in the Kiesel vs EBMM thread)....this just makes the GAS worse pairing that info with those pics. I love that color, what is it? HNGD!

It’s the Firemist purple colour, for some reason my camera can’t quite capture how it really looks. The picture they have on EBMM’s website though is just about spot on

So I did a dumb thing and popped the trem arm screw out thinking it was the tension screw, how important is this part?

Like the one on the underside of the unit? It's part of the assembly that keeps the bar in place, so you'll want to replace it.

To adjust tension on the bar, dive the trem and adjust the small (1.5mm) hex screw on the back of the trem block.

    "California Heritage" ???

Going by the accepted industry lingo, does that mean Made in... Elsewhere Entirely???

Why did they make the that a screw adjusted thing and not just a solid piece like other tremolos?

California put in place laws that essential make it so every part needs to be sourced from within the United States to be able to be labeled "Made in USA".

So the German made tuners and some bridges as well as some hardwoods preclude EBMM guitars from using the old slogan.

I believe there was a patent or something they were dodging. Though there are other units with similar setups, though mostly from manufacturers outside the US (Schaller).

    Huh

Why not "Carved in California" or something, then?

Surely you can still put that on a piece of woodwork done in Cali????

PS ....and what's Fender doing, then? No way all that Gotoh/Ping/Schaller hardware suddenly moved back to made in SoCal, is there?
