GC had a sale on a 7620 in gold flake black for $510, and then I had a 15% off coupon for new stuff but they took it anyway , and dropped another 7.5% , threw in free shipping and no tax so I kinda had to buy my first 7 string lol

I read here a MIJ fuguyen 1999 7620 in excellent condition can be between 450-600 on average so I figure if I can't play 7 strings with my small hands I can sell to someone here so pm me if you want to get on a list to contact if my hands are too small lol (seriously very tiny )

Sorry mate, but that's a 7420. Still a stellar guitar, but a lot of people have complaints about the Floyd on those models. I say keep it and play the shit out of it!

I actually emailed them several months ago telling them that that was a 7420. No response. The mislabel things all the time. They have a 7321 labeled as a prestige and is listed for $999.

Either way, I love those 7420s, super solid guitars. HNGD!

They might have a 30 day return policy. Did you buy it from a local store or online?

Go back to the online listing (if that's where you found it) and screenshot the listing so it shows the pic and the title saying its a 7620. Use that for your case because they definitely mislabeled it.

It's no lo pro, but it's really just fine. I hardly had issues with mine, except that one the studs digged into the body a bit after many years, making it a bit loose when there's no string tension. Doesnt affect playability by the way!

That is a bummer. Some upside though. A lot of those older 7420s have 7620 necks and, unless you actually use the trem, the lo trs is very stable when blocked and still easy to use. I hade a magenta crush 7420 and I absolutely loved it.

im pretty sure there is a 7620VK on there somewhere (although pic is super blurry and dark). always email them and ask for more pictures though. check the pickup tabs in the pics (round = 7420, triangular = 7620). Just make sure you are positive about what you are getting.

Yeah man that sucks, I just grabbed a 7620 and had them send me a picture so I could be sure of what it was. I've seen a few mislabeled 7420s on GC in the past unfortunately.

I'd say return it. if you just got it, there should be no complaints.

Guitar Center has its.....umm, "moments" but I will say that their used guitar return policy is really great! I bought two different Agiles (a 725 and a 727). I had the guitar sent to my local store. When I picked it up I asked to keep the shipping box (to ship other guitars).

Well, long story short, I played the Agiles and I didn't like them; GC took them back with zero questions asked. I would have no fear about buying a guitar, playing it for a bit to see if you like it and if you don't they take it back.

I'd return it and use that money searching for a 7620, maybe an early 1527. Who knows? However, if you decide to keep ot replacing the bridge with a FR is easy, the most complex part of the process is replacing the bridge studs, you can even use the stock ones and call it a day.

I bought what was supposed to be a second hand 7620 but it ended up being a 7420 as one forum member pointed out. The lo pro trs has been blocked on mine. It's really all the advantages of a fixed bridge (easy tuning changes) with the tuning stability of a double locking trem. Of course, this is what you ordered from a professional store so i'd just return it if you can. The 7420 is an awesome guitar though

I was frustrated and impulse bought an Indonesian 7421 for $175.

If the neck is horrible compared to fugyen I'll return

Otherwise decent price for a near mint axe I guess

Still bummed over 7620 botch lol

RG742x and 762x got the same neck
You'll be able to check by removing the neck and seeing the 7620 or 7621 stamp ;)
and $175 is near a steal ! Congrats

This is definitely the newer Indonesian neck

Is it worth keeping or are these necks complete garbage compared to fujiyen ?

I know $175 is great for a solid guitar but I am so disappointed about the 7620

So thoughts on the neck build quality ?

    Thx

IIRC the bubinga stripe necks are just slightly thinner. I could be wrong there but some people actually prefer it to the all maple 7620/7621 neck.

Oops nevermind I see you have the all maple neck. Should be pretty much identical to an early 7621 neck then man.
