    Hi,

    I've been a read-only member of ss.org for quite some time now, but never gotten around to post anything. So here's a first one.

    While waiting for a certain luthier to build me an FF8, I stumbled upon an almost second hand demo-ex Gary Kramer Turbulence T 7, and failed to resist buying it.

    36 Frets
    Splitable humbucker
    7 strings
    Mahogany body
    Maple/Wenge laminated neck

    Despite the looks It feels surprisingly comfortable to play, I got used to it in no time. The neck being flatter than my usual C-neck makes me hold it closer to how I would hold a classical.

    The playing position when seated (I play 99.99999% in studio) is exceptional. Best ergonomics ever.

    Oh, and it also sounds good with stock pickups. (Yes before I played it I did considered replace options and might still replace the stock pickup at some point but no rush).

    If you ever find one, I highly recommend you try it out! I'm happy I did.

    I really regret not buying one of the Floyded versions of those, either the 36 or 29 fretters. Now they're all but impossible to find.

    @ Troyguitar

    Yes, I would also have been happy with a 29 fret with floyd, just for the extra flexibility and while I find myself going +25 frets at times, 36 is hard to use all if.

    Nevertheless I'm surprised how at home I feel with this guitar already after a day of playing!

    Welcome fellow countryman! :)

    I think I've seen that some time on Blocket, they pop-up when you least expect them to do!
    Nevertheless, it looks really nice and comfy.. would like to try one out some day!

    Thanks Rojne!

    Yeah, there's been a few on blocket on and off for some time I believe.
    I suppose many guitarists are too conservative regarding the shape.... a shame really!

    Yea I also regret not getting one of those when they were still on the Gary Kramer site for sale. They are just so damn awesome.

    Thanks for the kind words guys!

    @Moltar, SpaceDock: Yeah, to be honest I wasn't planning on buying anything right now but I figured that if I passed on this one + the price was right, it might be hard to find one later.

    These look classy, but honestly, I can't imagine how one can hold it in seated position during hours of playing. I'd love to try one.

    It's got a detachable C-Shaped aluminium + rubbber leg rest at the bottom of the body. You rest that on your leg (preferrably left leg) and you've got a great position!

    Great guitars, HNGD man, I used to own the Midnight Swirl T36 and a stock Red R36 with Floyd and they are not only comfy to play but sound great!!! Awesome find!!!:hbang:

    If/when I get a playing pic I'll upload something... might take a while thou.

    @mr_ormus777:
    You got rid of both? You must have had good reason.... ;)

    @ShadyDavey:
    Thanks Davey!
    Found it at the Swedish buy and sell BBS called "blocket". How do you like your R36?

    It's been tweaked - the nut has been lowered, I had all the frets levelled and crowned, and I added a tremolo spring (making 4) since I got it but it plays beautifully now, the Floyd stays in tune and the only fly in the ointment is that the frets above 29 are too small to realistically play so I'm having it re-fretted a la Uli Jon Roth at some point.

    Other than that, amazing instrument.
