    Here we go!

    Ibanez KOMRAD!

I wasn't really looking for a seven, I am a six string guy through and through. I got this in a trade for a couple of cymbals so I took it in.

Wide and flat neck, which is to be expected to some degree. The factory nut was garbage so I cut a piece of Buffalo horn for the nut. It came with the Seymour Duncan Blackouts, with the Mick Thompson in the bridge and standard blackout in the bridge. Sounds absolutely massive.

The finish is excellent, frets had some wear. The bloodsplatter finish is cool. I like the jack placement, and really like the control outlay. My only qualm is that the tuners and Bridge are chrome. Black would look far better I think, and I think I will be getting a black Gotoh bridge and tuners.

Overall awesome guitar. I will try to get some more pics up later.

    Cheers!

Nice. The blood splatter is indeed cool and replacing the chrome bridge and tuners with black ones would look badass.

    Happy NGD!

Thanks! I love the splatter and I am Definitely gunning for the black hardware.

I gotta agree with you on this. I haven't seen too many. Even not many if any on reverb and ebay. It's a pretty cool guitar.

Great score for the first time in a decade! I always thought that model was cool in its simplicity and lack of flashiness.
If there's one thing I wish was around when I first put Blackouts in my MIJ RG7421, it's the MT version.
The original BO isn't bad, but over time I got sick of how exaggerated everything about it was.
They were still better than the original V7-V8 pickups the guitar came with, but the extreme output and the heavy bass/lower mid response (which easily turned to mud/woofiness, especially when even slightly tuned down) of the original BOs just got old after a while
The MT model seems to bring things back to a better balance with lower output with less bass and just generally sounds clearer. It really is the definitive BO model to get, especially for those who plan to tune down a bit.
