The routes in the trem cavity look a lot better than the 8 string you had.
That was mine... The route was clean but routed in the wrong spot, making the trem post holes too close to the edge of the wood and also restricting floyd dive
Oh snap, wrong guy.
I mean, doesn’t look like there’s obvious scorch marks where they dwelled the cutter against a wall for too long where there was definitely some of that going on in the 8.
This specimen is very sexy.
I am hoping they get around to a 7 string V.
Using more/less springs is irrelevant to your string tension/intonation, especially with Tremol-no (great choice by the way). But yes, try a 0.064. I generally go for a 0.062 at A but I use 26.5" scale 7 strings only.
Sick guitar homie. HNGD!
I had the problem of not being able to flutter on my RG1527 when i had a set of 10-64 on drop A with 5 springs.
When i reduced to 9-46 with a 60 first and then a 62 with 3 springs i was able to flutter again.
Just dont expect it to sound/work as well as with a 6 string that has a set of 9-42 on it.
On a 7 string the flutter will be faster and shorter no matter what you do.
Sweet! I'd love a custom USA BC Rich Bich 7 string.
Congrats on the new guitar! Looks great! On string tension I use a 64 on my low B for 25.5in scale, I don't think it would be to much for that in A. You can always grab a few singles and try each out for a bit too.
even if I reduce the amount of springs in the back? With the tremolno the max I can have is 4 and I am max'd out. I just bought a Daddario 10-52 8 string set. So it has a low .64 and .74. Not gonna use the 8th string but possibly thinking of trying the .64 I have a friend who I plan on calling and talking about these things. The lower strings are definitely a bit too light in A standard.
I'd like a rich bich 6 retro with a floyd or kahler. Would be killer.
Just bought an 8 string pack that has a .64 that I plan on using. The top 3 strings are the same gauge, but the bottom three are the heavy bottoms so gunna try those on soon
Damn. A BC Rich I don't hate.
That is a great looking guitar.
Hey guys so I put some thicker string and god damn does this thing sing! A bit tight in A standard, but in G# standard this thing is a pure fuckin beast.
Heres some cannibal corpse stuff:
Oh and sorry for lookin like a fuckin dork!
Damn that guitar looks fucking good. Sounds awesome. Great taste in music too.
Are those D Activators?
Nope. They are an exclusive BCR Made in USA Dimarzio Hi Power Series. Custom made for them by Larry Dimarzio himself. Bill told me that they are like super distortions with a better bottom end and with more clarity. Also the neck is an improved paf pro.
Really good pickups man. Didn't expect to like them in my 6 but I love em. They sound good on the 7 now that i messed with them a bit, put thicker strings on and have a profile on the kemper that suits it well.
They sound really good, I like D Activators a lot (and the signature Brodericks even more which are supposedly based on them) so I thought that might have been it. I'm really impressed with these pickups though.
Dude i was impressed aswell. When i got my 6 string i had the impression that they would be meh and that I'd have to put some Fishman classics in there but nope!
I cannot express this enough but they way these sound accompanied with my kemper in person is UNFUCKIN REAL. I had a 80s rock/metal profile on here that i really liked but this profile that I have that is of a tri rec.
It is a legit pure cannibal corpse tone. I have been waiting for years to get that sound along with a 7 string and I am more than pleased with it.
The Kemper i cannot express enough is one of the best musical investments i have made
I love BC Rich guitars and would really love a 7 string from them. My only gripes are the abalone binding, just a personal preference, but it is too blingy for me. That said, your guitar looks great and the binding isn't overwhelming (maybe that is due to satin finish). Regardless of my personal opinions, congrats on a cool guitar!
I would really disregard the abalone on this one. In person it is not blingy at all imo and is a nice fit. If it didnt have abalone i think it would lose a lot of class.
