That is absolutely stunning! As others have mentioned, a fade done extremely well and tastefully!

I'm guessing the Hipshot bridge is mostly for vibrato effects and ot so much extreme dives and pull ups like a Floyd bridge.

I'm from the land of maple syrup and ice hockey.
I use the bar a lot, but to a subtle degree. It definitely doesn't have the range and tuning stability of a double locking Floyd, but it's more than good enough for my uses.

Not to take this too far off tangent, but what are you doing in Tokyo? I ask because I think it would be super cool to live abroad someday.

I work in the Tokyo branch of an American software company. It's an easy career to be mobile in. I moved here a few years ago just for fun and ended up staying. Moving abroad is probably one of the best decisions I ever made.

That is by far the best fade I've ever seen! You have excellent taste! I'd be tempted to order a custom and let you spec it for me :D

Definitely one of the nicest color Carvin/Kiesel’s I’ve seen and a fade I could happily live with. There’s a Tom Anderson Angel for sale on another forum that also has a subtle transition from color to color that I like (very different colors though). How much was the upcharge for the color match? Anyways—nice specs you chose— enjoy the heck out of it!

To be fair, you're talking to a man who yesterday was wearing a neon green t shirt with hot pink trainers! I'd probably like that!

Standard gloss over a flame maple top is $250, and then it was $300 for the custom fade. I also love Anderson fades and they were definitely an inspiration. I always give them a look when I'm checking out the shops around town.

That is probably the best fade finish I’ve ever seen and it’s a great top too, fantastic looking guitar. Fantastic.

Damn right you are. Kiesels can be so hot when specced and done right.

OP: congrats again!! I envy you, if only I wasn't in Europe ;-)

The thing is stunning. Probably hard to play when it’s so easy to look at.
