I think we've slowly reached that part of the cycle where there were so many over the top wood finishes available (looking at you Ibanez), that people urge for beauty in simplicity again.

Thanks man! I totally agree. After years of constantly searching for the right flamed or quilted top in the right colour that just 'pops' etc. it feels great to be back to plain old black. Add in white binding and you can't go wrong.
