Back in 2018 I bought the EII RZK-II Burnt for my 20 years of playing guitar anniversary but I ended up returning it because of economic reasons and other priorities..

Well this year I have another 20 years anniversary!!

It's been 20 years since I bought my first ESP guitar which was the ESP KH2 bolt-on Custom shop back in 2001. So lets celebrate and buy another EII RZK-II Burnt:

Those of you who is familiar with this model might notice that something is missing..? Yes that is correct, there is no burnt relic on the sides! This one even seems to have escaped the fire in good time cause the burnt effect is quite subtle too..

I'm not gonna lie, when I first opened the case I was quite disapointed and wanted to return it right away. But I was also prepared this might happen cause I saw a few other Burnt models without the side relic before ordering. Since the guitar made it so far I gave it a fair chance to become a part of my collection and here is why I'm keeping this beast:

First of all it just sounds so damn good!! Big resonans with a solid body vibration. Beefy clear tones and a nice deep low end without the mud. Crispy tones in the neck possition and eminent sustain. Just what you would expect from this wood combination in an eclipse model. The theme here is big!

Secondly I really like the feel of this neck, it kinda feels like there some meat to it but at the same time it has a really nice contour. Still a thin U profile and my hand feels right at home. Fits the theme for this model perfectly in a good way, which is Big but with good playability.

Thirdly I absolutely love the look of the light colored fretboard, totally saves the overall look for me. It has a luxurious clear and tasty look to it. Goes well with the color theme of this guitar.

I have come to the conclusion that this particulair guitar has more of a industrial concrete or something kind of look rather than burnt and since it sounds and plays so good it has now become a part of my collection.

Late 2020 production model it seems, so I got to have something quite fresh from ESP.

3,9 kg, it does feel like it has a good weight to it.

Works well as an 20 years anniverary marking but since ESP has a special place in my heart I have yet another thing coming soon..

I really dig that horizon-iii. Your collection is awesome! Also, congrats on this eclipse. This style is my favorite of his sigs, the missing relicking on the sides is a positive for me. Congrats on your new acquisition!

Dude, sweet collection! What do you do for work to acquire all those ESP's? Or did you win the lottery?
I'm jealous of the Flying V's!

Ooooooooooooooooooh. Congrats on such a cool guitar. Fitting that you get a Richard Z sig after starting w/ a KH, as he played a KH for over a decade, lol.

And the zebra print rules. I’m such a sucker for animal print guitars!

I haven't checked to be sure but I would think that the difference in the relic and effects being on the sides or not would be due to whether it is a factory E-II model or a full on custom shop sig model. Either way, it's a sick guitar. Amazing collection as well.

Just a regular stock employee dude.. Tax returns does help too. In the end it's a matter of prioritiy and saving up, I don't own a car ATM and like so many others not spending money on going out because of Covid 19 helps a lot too!! This collection has been built over a decade since 2010 btw. All of them bought new but some of them on sale. First edition EIIs back in 2013 where a lot cheaper than todays EII prices.

I had the exact same thought, there some good symbolic in this model for my own personal matter too! Adding another KH2 bolt-on custom shop is on my wish list but I don't think I'm gonna make it this year, we shall see..

More pics of the Zebra to be included in my next NGD coming very soon!
