So last week I bought a LTD Alexi 600 from a local music store for $400 off a price drop and talking the guy down. It kept going out of tune when I used the bar so I assumed okay just set up wrong, it's easy to fuck up a floyd set up. Oh shit was I wrong, both of the pivot points where the blade edged of the floyd meet are completely jammed, and the low E side is way to high, and to make everything even better the locking nut it loose. I talked to the store and they said I can get all my money back and I'm looking at a Jackson DK2M at a different store that I'll pick up within the next couple days.

I just love when this shit happens :wallbash: Not a huge loss just annoying as shit. I absolutely love the Alexi but due to a shit floyd I can't keep it, I like floyds too much. And I've played the jacson and that floyd/jackson licensed whammy whatever works damn good, and I've heard nothing but good about the guitar on here and other sites, so fuck it I'll shoot for that. :hbang:

heres the exact one I'm getting, not a scratch on the thing, plays pretty nice as well.

DK2Ms are made in Japan so It's a step up from the Alexi.

I'd take that DK2M over the Alexi any day.

I love mine to death, but I bricked it trying to bypass the tone control. All in all, the dk2m is a great guitar for the price they ask.

The Alexi has one sound. This has several. You're doing better out of this.

All Floyds are fucking annoying tbh, I can't stand the way they work but it's cool to have one there.

Yea I agree big time with the sound thing since its a JB + Jazz combo, but I wanted a one pickup guitar no hassles type thing, but I guess it's a positive change.

And yes setting of a flyod is like playing catch with your mentally handicapped brother 3 times removed who secretly hates you and wants you to die. But it's nice to have if you have a tranquilizer dart handy.

Looks like a decent guitar there, white is always nice.

Floyds are the bane of people who don't want to learn to do setups, that is for sure . Otherwise the utility is fantastic. Speaking of which, my springs relaxed and I need to level mine, could use a string change too, so no biggy.

Weird since the Alexi costs more. But this is a Jackson, do you cannot go wrong lol.

Sucks you did not get the Alexi. But you are still getting a great gutiar none the less.

I would take that Jackson or an Alexi anyday, and I'm not the biggest fan of Jacksons but that one is good.

Eh I'm not the biggest fan of this, it'd be nice to have but it;s defiantly not a necessary to me, I've thought about getting in the past but i cant muster spending like $70 bucks I'd use once in a while.

You could just block it with some wood, saves you $68 but you lose the ability to instantly unblock it.

tbh jackson floating trems are very good, you just to specially take care of the fine tuners cause they rust quite fast

Floyd setups are not bad at all. I have been playing floyd equipped guitars since I was 13 and 15 years later I can restring a whole guitar in about 15 minutes. A complete setup if I need to adjust action, bridge leveling, etc takes maybe 30-40 min. The end payoff of tuning stability and a smooth trem system is a more than adequate payoff. If all else fails you could just block it.
