I love the simple aesthetic. It’s a nice departure from some of the almost Kissel-like finishes they’ve been putting out lately.
Not to take this off topic, but if Kiesel did some really cool minimalistic instruments I think it would get them quite a bit more customers. There's a rather thick line between good specs and I'm-going-to-use-every-crayon-I-own, yet a lot of companies/people step well over that line.
Yeah, “violin-like” finishes like brown or sunburst over figured maple is about where I max out. But those seem better-suited to more “classic” designs.I've never been a fan of basses with flashy wood tops or any fade/swirl/burst finish, I think they look tacky haha
