    Hey guys,

Late last week I ended up trading my purple Rg550 and some cash for a Bowes SLx7, this one might look familiar because I think I've seen it on these forums before.

This guitar plays absolutely amazing. The neck is a lot different than any neck I've played (has a V shape), so I was worried but I'm getting used to it. The scalloped 12-25 treble side is a nice touch also.

The guitar is super light and the body is thin, which is a shock to someone who's been playing an RG and a les Paul custom for years.

Craftsmanship on this thing is 10/10.

Unfortunately I can't play it through an amp at the moment. I purchased an amp off fleabay on the 9th and the dude just shipped it yesterday.... Gonna be a long weekend.

    +1 to this

Now you've got maple syrup mites floating around your house, and may feel the desire to end every sentence in "eh?" and refer to people as "hosers".

But seriously, nice score! Brian's got a few aesthetic preferences that don't quite mesh with mine, but despite that I'd still love to get my hands on one of his axes. He's got great attention to detail, for sure.

    hehe

Also if anyone has any care tips for a Cocobolo fretboard I'm all ears - I'm not sure if I should treat it as rosewood with lemon oil, or something else.

Love celebrating an uber HNGD! like this. Hope you really enjoy your new piece man. Can't give off enough good vibes about instruments like this. Build quality, wood choice, benefits of modern design etc. It's all exemplified in a guitar of this caliber! Love it!

This used to be mine :) You're lucky I don't play sevenstrings anymore or else you wouldn't have it ;)

Hah yeah, when I was looking up reviews for Bowes SLx7's I noticed this particular guitar floating between a few members here. Not sure if it's the neck or another reason, but I like it. Talking to Brian about a couple lifted frets, but not a big deal.

I loved it, had too many guitars at the time, and I stopped playing the heavies.

Bit belated on welcoming you to the club, but enjoy that beast. Mines still running strong a couple years after I ordered and got it. They're total workhorses on top of being gorgeous! Hell of a conversation piece as well.

Well... I actually sent it out today... I traded it to a guy for a Caparison.

Was my dream guitar growing up, so when he accepted I had to do it. Probably will be another NGD post from h im in a few days.
