Scored this brand new old stock J Custom JCRG20138/ JCRG813 whatever you wanna call it.
Absolutely stoked. Took a huge gamble as 8's usually aren't my thing and it has definitely paid off. Wont ramble too much about how sick it is, the photos dont show off the depth of the flame too well but oh well.

1 of 8 made, 7 in Brown Garnet Shadow, 1 in Black Opal.

Typical J Custom levels of detail. Plays insanely well straight out of the box. Factory swing tags were still on when i pulled it out of the box, factory strings too. Don't know where this was hiding but its literally flawless.

Very happy and now I don't ever need another 8 string haha.

Thinking of dropping in a set of BKP Ragnarok 8's, camo covers no holes with a small etch on it. Thoughts?

    Cheers
    Michael

    Congrats!

I'm not usually a Camo BKP fan, but I think they'd look good in this. The browns and tans and ambers will be complimentary to the top.

    Awesome, HNGD!

I have a black one that I put Abasi Fluences in, there's not a huge amount of space in the cavity so passive pickups is probably a good call.

I've read somewhere else that usually the camo prints on BKP gets removed very easily over time, is is true? Maybe it's a thing to consider for OP. I definitely don't have the experience and only read about it probably in another thread.

I have a set of camo-covered 8-string soapbars. The camo finish looks like some sort of intentional corrosion applied to the metal of the cover. I didn't have the pickups in the guitar long (replaced with Fluences), but it does seem that the camo finish is just on the surface, so I could see how the finish would get worn off, exposing the "normal" uncorroded metal underneath.

Honestly, even thought it wouldn't match the hardware, I think chrome covers would look sick on that guitar. Or the Satin Nickel.

Every time I see one of these I get momentarily excited, thinking that’s a trem on there. And then I remember it’s just the big ass 8 string bridge Ibanez likes.
Nevertheless, that is a GREAT score. They should really make more of those.

Thanks for the input guys. Haven’t full decided on which way to go RE pickups. Just finally getting a chance to actually play the guitar haha.

Dude I still love the one I got from you so much, it’s my favourite 7
