    So, some backstory:
For the past 3 or 4 years, I've been playing a $200 Strat-pack clone guitar. Tbh, it was pretty decent, but I wanted to venture into greater things. So, about a month ago, I decided to take the plunge and get a much better guitar. And here it is:

    It's a Jackson!

I bought it off Reverb for a little over $250 and was led to believe it was a SLATTXMG3-6, which at the price point, I still thought was a good deal. However, after some post-purchase info searching, I find that it is actually a SLSMG! An even better deal, IMO.

There is quite a major difference between this and my first guitar.
    • Bolt-on vs Neck thru
    • Single-coils vs humbuckers
    • Indonesian made vs Japanese made
    • Alder body, rosewood board vs Mahogany body, ebony board
    • etc. etc.

As a bonus, instead of the usual EMGs, it has a pair of Dave Davidson's Dimarzio Imperiums.

All in all, I can't stop playing this thing and I absolutely love it.

Dayumm that is a steal, especially with the imperiums. How do they sound?

This is my first time ever playing a guitar with humbuckers, so I don't have much to compare to. Plus I'm currently playing through Revalver because I don't have a decent amp. But to me, I would say that they are "balanced." Not too dark, not too bright. Kinda just in the middle. The neck pickup cleans up pretty well, especially when split. I love the split neck sound. IDK don't really know how to describe other than maybe "harp-like?" Still gotta test these guys out, but I don't think I have or see any reason to change them out for anything else.

It's a good guitar. I kinda regret trading it away
