The RG3550MZ! My first guitar with a maple fretboard, and I absolutely love it. The paint is beautiful, and none of the pictures I've found online do it justice (and clearly my iPhone camera pics don't either).

Plays beautifully, adjusting intonation was a breeze with this bridge, and I'm kind of into the ZERO trem thing. Makes tuning much easier.

The pickups sound really nice, but I'm swapping them for a Nailbomb / Trilogy Suite / Nailbomb combo. I have Nailbombs in my 7, and I'm just in love with that sound.

Which means the Air Norton / True Velvet / Tone Zone will be for sale on this forum next week if anyone wants them.

And on to the crappy pics... I need a real camera.

Loving those inlays and I would've expected it to be a normal black so the metallic paint is a very nice touch. And yeah, how good are Nailbombs!! =D

I played this model and it was fucking awesome - this has the thinner Super Wizard neck which just feels solid, and more like a classic Ibanez. Great score man! PM me when you sell it

Yeah I was worried about the gray, because it didn't create an interesting contrast in all the pictures I saw, but in person it's awesome. Nailbombs are satan's gift to guitars, I swear.

Yeah, it plays so well, especially for me since I have normal-to-small sized hands.

:yum: My cousin and I both agree that the next 6ers we get are going to be this model, with different colors obviously, since he likes white guitars.

First of all: great guitars. Love that maple fb and the look of the zebra pups.

I'm planning to change the pups of my RG550 to the same combo as you're about to (NB / TS/ NB) so I'd appreciate if you let us know when you installed them and what you think about them. I guess you're going for A5 NBs, aren't you?

I think the bridge pickup is ceramic by default when you order a calibrated set. That's how it was with the last set I ordered. Also, they don't let you specify ceramic / a5 on their online store when ordering.

I'll let you know how it sounds.

Usually both neck and bridge NBs are A5. You can order them with ceramic magnets but it's not a standard option and, as you say, not listed on their online store.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I usually have to roll the treble way back with the Nailbombs in my 7 since the bridge pickup is ceramic. I imagine the A5 will help smooth it out a bit.

I'll also make a post here as to whether they send me an A5 or ceramic for the bridge.

A ceramic magnet for a NB is a special order option. A normal NB set is A5 for both pickups. Order from zimbloth. He is cheaper than ordering direct and can get you whatever you need, not to mention he is in Boston as well.
