NGD: 2023 Gibson Les Paul R9

Was quite a long time coming for me personally but I am glad I got what is honestly my dream Les Paul (that isn't a real 59 Burst) in my hands.

I got this guitar today after trading in both my Les Pauls at Guitar Center since although I really loved them, they just didn't satisfy my love for Les Pauls as much as they should have if that makes sense. I'd been hunting for an R9 for a couple of months and I actually almost pulled the trigger on an R8 that I could have traded up for an R9, but I figured I would rather just get the R9 that I've coveted sooner rather than later. Really excited that I did.

So, like the title implies it's brand new from this year. Factory Burst finish and a really beautiful flame top if you get the right angle on it. It's got Custombucker Alnico III pickups which sound amazing, and of course the neck feels great in my hands. Just a happy medium for me especially since I've come to realize I love thicker necks.

More than anything, just really stoked and excited that I have this guitar.

It was honestly between Factory Burst and Washed Cherry, but I really like how pronounced the red is in the Factory Burst and it looks even better with a nice flame on it.
