Picked up this little soloist the other week. Prepare for a cliché laden review!!! No seriously..quick review just...cool guitar. Build quality is spot on as you'd expect, fretwork is fantastic whatever type of super jumbo fretwire is on this I can't say for sure but I really like it. Neck carve is good, not super slim but shreddy enough. OFR holds tune really well and the Seymour's (JB and '59) in this case sound awesome, lots of nice crunch and sustain, quite bright too this being an alder bodied guitar. I've no idea how it cleans up...haven't really tried it...I really only play through ultra high gain anyway. You can't really go wrong with these USA Soloists....sure they can be pricey but I'd def grab anything at around the 1,000-1,200 mark again for sure (GBP).

Sorry for the crappy pics. Snapped these last week and the sun is on vacation for at least another 3 months here. The finish is actually Black Forest Metallic...a really dark shade of green. As always thanks for looking!

    Super nice, congrats!

Definitely upload some more pics if you can get some that bring out the green, I don't think I've ever seen that color before.

I see you've turned to the dark side too hahahaha! Seriously though these are really well built guitars and sound just fantastic. I've found the unexpectedly dark sounding for alder with maple neckthrough but they do have a deep sound. The profile is not Ibanez thin but it is quite quite thin. Did you snag this in N.Ireland/Ireland?

Cheers man! I'll try and get some outdoor shots soon. It's absolutely chucking it down with rain here today.

Cheers mate. Yeah it's a great sounding guitar. This one came in from a guy in England via a trade done on FB.

    Another great score, man!

Really dig the color. I've seen a Kelly in that same color in person and it's gorgeous.

    Congrats on a killer guitar!

I really like these Jacksons, they just "fit me" if that makes sense. I'm sure you'll enjoy playing this one.

Don't know exactly why but the late 90's and early 2k soloists were just great guitars. Just don't get the same feel on the new ones today. Congrats.

Ah, that was a cool era for Jackson. The MIJ models ruled.
I used to daydream about owning one of those USA Soloists. Never ever got to own one, but I still remember vividly playing one at a guitar show and it played and sounded ever bit as amazing as I expected.
Ultimately, I'm just not a double locking trem kinda guy anymore, but shit if I were given one of these I definitely wouldn't say no
