That's exactly what I was thinking. Both bands definitely have the feels. This song definitely grew on me hard

Seeing these guys today! I was speaking to my drummer (who writes most of the lyrics for our band) and we agreed that Volumes has a very "obvious" way of writing lyrics where it's almost cringe worthy as to how up front and simple it is. I personally think it works to deliver the exact message they hope to deliver in a poignant way, while my drummer enjoys them as a band but thinks they could definitely refine their lyrics a bit more. I kind of agree with him, but hey we both still like the band.

Great new song, as well! The clean vocals sections on Via were amazing for me

"You guys are apparently way harsh on lyrics. Other than the "truck" line, I'm not sure why this is SO funny to you. I mean, like, "I would have picked you up", or whatever.... That's probably the phrase that keeps/kept going through his head when it happened, and I don't see what's wrong with writing something the way you speak/think.

It's not a masterpiece of poetry, but it's probably a very real, honest song. And I'm not even a fan, guys. I'll probably never listen to this again."

pretty much sums up my thoughts on the lyrics.

I like the song, but the clean vocals are a step backwards imo. Hopefully there isn't a ton of them on the album

the only thing i dont like about it is the repeated clean verses "whyd you have to go? whyd you have to go?" its too cheesy pop-like, but those background parts "We've been saying" are awesome and fit int really well
