What is that, Disturbed? I don't even. :noplease:

The Haunted used to be so sick, and they have like 3 founding members of At the Gates. How did this song happen???

This is not what I expected, but give it a shot. I LOVE the song after a few listens!

It's a bit Evanescence, but I can see it growing on me.

I only really listened to it on a shitty iPod dock at work, but does Peter Dolving sound impressively like Maynard James Keenan in places, or are my ear infection-blighted ears deceiving me?

So they completely lost the melo-death-thrash aspect of The Haunted of old. I have liked all their albums so far, I even thought "The Dead Eye" was awsome, which apparently a lot of people didn't. Versus was lacking a little, but it was still a lot better than this. I really hope this song doesn't reflect the vibe of the whole album.

It makes me think of what would happen if Katatonia got drunk with the guys from Engel and they all listened to Tool and then recorded a track before they sobered up.

Just because this isn't melodeath doesn't mean it's not cool.. This is cool, actually. I'm glad to hear them doing something different, though I haven't heard their last few albums.

I do agree with this statement, and I don't think the song is bad, i'm just not really that into it.

Agreed. If it weren't the Haunted, I wouldn't be so bummed about this.

The Haunted, to me, always meant thrashy-as-fuck. This is radio rock.

I'm 100% on board with this assessment. I'm not a fan of this song at all :noplease:

interesting how they have evolved, and what the fans and anti fans think of them.
i guess i'm a bit subjective, because i love them, and also loved the dead eye. I kinda predicted they would be going this route. either way..... i like it, and always wanted to hear more melodic vocals anyway.

What the hell is this shit? These guys used to be awesome! Sounds like generic radio metal to me. If wonder if they had help from a producer? That can sometimes drastically alter a bands sound.

This. The song itself is okay I guess, but when I saw The Haunted... and then I heard this...

I honestly liked the song. However, it just isnt what i expected the haunted. If the whole new cd sounds like this I wont be sad, but i probably wont be too happy about either.

i love seeing posts like this. Really dude? Maybe if you got out more, maybe if you didn't hang around forums all day you'd have realized The Dead Eye was their most successful album to date. I bet you also think Periphery is a world renowned band huh? lmao.

I love the new direction they are going. They've already dominated melodic death metal with At The Gates, they dominated Thrash with their early albums as The Haunted, and now they're going to kill it with this mix of alt rock and hard metal.

The Haunted are very underrated and i'm tired of the peopel that think the were only good doing thrash.

These guys are getting older, no need to be like Slayer by trying to outdo all the new kids out there tryign to play faster, messier, and "BRUTAL".

EDIT: anyone know if the album has leaked? I'm dying to listen to it all.

Now now just because he expressed HIS opinion on this track and you disagree doesnt mean you should make assumptions on him as per above.

Some people will welcome a bands change of sound and some will hate a band because of it, it is just the way. I will always respect a band that changes its sound if its for the artists within that bands preference, howver much less so if its just to shift a few more albums.

Ouch. Alrighty then, forget me and my opinion.

EDIT: Jontain has a good point, I think his post pretty much sums up the way I feel.
