Looks like they've rebuilt the band and came back with a new single. A bit more straightforward than their previous djenty stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffERnfBMTH4 The new guitarists is my former guitar teacher, insanely skilled player, hope he plays some tasty solos on their new songs edit: I have no idea how to embed a youtube video lol
Huuuh, interesting... The combination of Nolly and PeteyG were what IMO made the original RSF outstandingly good. This iteration is a fair bit more metalcore'y. The vocals actually seems to have improved. Everything else needs to sink in a bit more.
That's not the same singer from their first EP too is it? His clean vocals sound like Chester Bennington. Also, wow I didn't know that they had put out 2 EPs since that.
That is indeed their original singer. The new track is pretty good. I think the music was at it's best when it was just Petey G on guitar. Those 3 eps they released during that period where awesome.
Same here. I still liked the stuff after Nolls. But the new one is really bland to me. Really not what Red Seas Fire is. They should've broke up and started a new project. Im pretty sad about it. The 1st EP was what made me wanna pick up a 7 string. Well that, and trivium shogun
I dig. I really liked their song "The Mistakes We Make" more, but this is definitely good with me. My fiance likes this stuff more than their older stuff (she's really not into metal... yet), so that's progress.
I prefer this to anything they have released in the past, with maybe the exception of blood bank. Petey G just cant get a break. That guy is crazy talented.
He didnt write much at all on this. He said on his Facebook he has been taking a break and only throwing occasional riffs at the guys to use. Which is why i dont really like it i guess. I really dig Petey's style and this isnt his. He did say he was working on something nice and heavy though!
They really should have just started under a new name, since RSF "broke up" last year anyways. It's not like they were super famous in the first place.
