BroCalz !! BroCalz !! BroCalz !! BroCalz !! BroCalz !! Yeah !! Yeah !! Yeah !!
Sounds like typical parkway drive to me. Not great but I don't really listen to this sort of metalcore anymore. Aside from their pre deep blue whatever albums for nostalgia.
Of course, but most people here are saying (or that's what i take from it) that it has a bit of "modern" IF sound.
Wasn't that their first album?
KWAS is the only album I have from them and I've never been able to fully get into them. They have some cool songs no doubt but a lot of it just felt generic to me, this is just not worth listening to.
I like watching their live videos more than listening to their actual studio recordings
Good god. I'd not heard this band before, I'm surprised people on guitar forums like this kind of thing. Not that simplistic stuff can't be cool, but things this generic/ derivative/ run of the mill, I mean.
Something about gang vocals makes me cringe. Not a bad song otherwise though.
Not too familiar with these guys other than Atlas, but they're pretty cool.
Yea I'm not trying to bash new In Flames, I just wanna make sure everyone knows there's a lot of material out there before Reroute to Remains. I'm not saying new In Flames is terrible...I'm not....I'm just saying I WOULD HIGHLY suggest looking at some older In Flames...because it's fantastic.
Please for the love of god put down your Appletini, turn this off, have some goddamn self respect and and go listen to some Whoracle...
So are most classic rock and modern metal bands of all genres. That's what genres are though. Even most tech death bands sound similar. Hence there's a genre to group them together.
Also simplistic is subjective. Most people here wouldn't say meshugga is simplistic.
Yea, if you notice in my original post, the operative word was new In Flames. It reminds me a lot of A Sense of Purpose, which I don't hate, it's fun and catchy metal, but it doesn't wow me either.
The jester race is better
that's the thing though, their older stuff is way better (IMO) faster, heavier etc.
And addictive to learn as a highschool guitarist!
Colony and Clayman are what made them icons. Without those records they wouldn't be the same band. However, everything before Soundtrack is gold - even Reroute, if you pay attention.
For all the reasons people dislike this, I actually LOVE IT
At times I just need something light which I can laugh at, if that makes sense
And this ticks all the boxes
There previous work is definitely better though no doubt about it, happened to see them live a week ago too, killer show.
I dig it! Pre-ordered the new album the day it was available
PWD has been one of those bands for me that has always been good, never done any wrong, and evolved their sound for the better. Not to say the old stuff is bad, though, I just like the new direction too!
Also, I'm dying from all the brocalz jokes
The aforementioned plane jump riff is baller. I just wish the rest of the song was anything that resembled decent. PWD is basically dead at this point, though. I lost hope for this band after Atlas, and now I'm convinced that they aren't going to put out any good music anymore.
I'm with you %100, still gonna see them live whenever I can though!
I'm a huge parkway fan and this is just horrible, WTF were they thinking?!??!?!? It's horrible shouty pub rock....
At least the production sounds better than the last two Albums. Which I literally couldn't listen to. (Granted a few songs were good) the rest I couldn't bare because of how bad it sounded. and I think Parkway are awesome at least the K.W.A.S and Horizons.
Unfortunately for me it seem's like the downhill slope after Horizons seems to be continuing. I'll wait till I hear the rest of the album to be 100% sure, But I don't want to listen to Heavy Nickelback when I put Parkway Drive on.
I think this is the kind of music that Atlas hinted at, it definitely sounds like it could have been on that album. However Atlas is their best since Horizons IMO, and I think this track is just going to turn out to be one of the less 'heavy' and 'core-y' ones from the new album. You can't judge any of their previous albums by a single track, so I'm fairly sure that this new one is going to be awesome, despite the bro vibe of this track
