    Cheers guys.

My little overpriced metal bracket arrived to block the Kahler.

Here it is before, with the springs

And with the ‘locking clip’ in place, basically replacing the springs and holding the cam solidly in the middle position.

As you can see, I had to redrill the holes on the bit that attaches to the baseplate, annoyingly. I guess the 7 string trems put the springs in a slightly different place I guess? I dunno. I probably should have just made my own, and saved some money.

The good news is it works as advertised. It’s badically a big fixed bridge with fine tuners now (and I love fine tuners).

I did notice an increase in sustain/resonance after installing that bracket. More of an improvement than I remember when I blocked my Floyd guitars, but I guess that was a while ago.

For what it’s worth, unblocked, the Kahler does still feel solid. Doesn’t make the other strings go flat when bending one string, like a Floyd does. Also you can’t palm it sharp.

I have heard some good reviews of those, but now that I’ve had it a while, I do really like the aftermath’s. Kind of a dry and crunchy sound, decently high output.
