Sounds more like Floor + Failure than Hum

idk how to feel about it yet because I’ve only listened to it 1.5 times

I'm only 2.5 songs in, but I like a lot so far!

    Edit:

    Track 5 - The Summoning

Go listen to it, right now!! And if you've already heard it, do it again.

All honeymooning aside, this might be the best record they've ever made.

Checking this out now. Glad I left work an hour early, leaves time for this before the wife gets home .

Edit: I liked it, will need to give it some more listens. The spacey tone on "shapeshifter" reminds me of something I already have dialled in, so that's nice .

Maybe I'll write another post-rock song this weekend.

This album is great, been listening to the back catalog too. Always enjoyed the stuff I heard from them, but sort of forgot about them. Guess that happens when you take 22 years off between albums. This one is my favorite from the new album.

Just listened, it's really great! I like that they expanded on the slow and ambient qualities that weren't necessarily the focus of their previous material but something that helped keep the band popular even decades later. Reminds me in some ways of Deftones, and the spacey-ness of the ambient keyboards/etc. reminds me even a little of Devin Townsend.

Nice that they were able to make something that is new and still really good that isn't just trying to recreate the same sound of their old albums.

This is excellent for getting mega baked, laying in bed in the dark and letting your mind wander. Such a good band, every album is great.

If that's your jam, you need Failure and Cave In on deck!

Team Sleep is one of my absolute favorites for this. Especially Woodstock sessions and all their demo tracks. Live from the stage, tennisface and seablock are my favorites from them.
