I've been GASing for this one ever since it was first introduced, and I finally pulled the trigger.

In the last ten years, I have owned an S7420, RG7421, UV777, and a K7. Of those, I regretted selling the K7 the most as it was a tone monster much like my Gibson Les Paul Custom is. However, none of the aforementioned 7s hold a candle to the APEX1. Let me say, pictures just DO NOT do this guitar justice. The finish is awesome. Also, like my RG2228 before it, the setup (neck relief, bridge height, intonation, etc.) is perfect right out of the box. Hell, I'm halfway tempted to buy another one of these as soon as I can afford one.

If that guitar had a more tasteful inlay that would be a pretty killer guitar.

But that inlay is so awful.

That's the astrological sign for Cancer. It's especially cool since it's the sign my daughter was born under. :)

I don't think I'd buy that guitar unless there was something like that in my life. I'd feel a bit weird playing a guitar with cancer sign on it. Instead I'd probably but a used K7.

Although, I have to admit, that guitar is really sweet. :yesway:

I used to feel that way about the K7. I loved the binding and the Blade Grey finish, but I (along with MANY others) hated the inlay. However, after purchasing the guitar and hearing how well it sounded...I quickly got over the inlay. I loved this guitar from the get go, I was just put off by the high price tag. After my daughter was born last year, however, that gave me the extra incentive that I needed to buy it.

Yeah, after hearing how good my mahogany S7 and RG8427F sounds I might have to get another mahogany RG. A K7 would probably be a great place to start. But that's WAAAY in the future though.

That's actually really sweet, dude. :yesway:

Awesome- the only lacking for me is the absence of the tone knob. But otherwise, a great looking guitar.
    Congrats!!!
