Another one -
I think Mary on a cross is much better than kiss the go-goat, based on a single listening of both. Got to like those 60's vibes though.
As always, I frikkin' love both tunes! Hope this means a new album's on the way, but even if this is just a 7", I'm picking it up for sure! I've loved Ghost since the first album dropped, and I'm still a fan of the evolution of their sound, and the sense of humour they bring to it.
You can't knock new Ghost, ever.
And as every- stunning songwriting.
I love both new songs.
I love Ghost but they lost me with their last album. Very disappointed, not for their look or skit or anything etc. but in the songwriting. So much major on major and sickly sweet predictable melodies, generally reeked of lazy songwriting IMO compared to their previous releases which I thought were excellent.
Now this doesn't necessarily peak my interest a whole lot, but I find more interesting than Prequelle. Crossing my fingers the next LP is more akin to this or Infestissumam.
If you don’t get that this 7” ep is just a comedic musical component to the ongoing storyline, and strictly serves as a silly transition during the downtime between albums, you’re completely missing the point. It’s not supposed to be taken seriously, at all.
Are Ghost ever to be taken seriously? Great music though!
I thought that was quite funny. Even though the music is pretty much as far from being metal as Ghost have ever been, the "Satan, Lucifer, Oscilum Obsinum"-part was an interesting darker twist in the melodic progression. I'm not quite sure whether I like either of the songs or not yet though
I am constantly impressed at how their songs are as catchy as a case of super gonorrhea.
It’s pretty crazy (to me) hearing that from others because I LOVED Prequelle. I thought a lot of the songs were much more structured as “heavy rock songs” than other albums. I loved the general creepiness of Meliora as well though so idk. I think I just end up liking whatever it is they do each time.
