Neural DSP users, do you tend to still load in external IRs or do you use the default ones?

It seems that the Neural DSP amp sims are potentially the best on the market currently (or at the very least, the hype seems to be justified). Anecdotally, I don't think I have seen a single negative comment about Neural DSP amp sims.

How are the cab sims? Do you still get better outcomes using external IR's?

it's all user dependent. The default cab options are pretty good imo. The mic placement and mixing of mics gives a ton of options but not everybody wants to mess with that stuff. I've gotten just as good of results with the default cabs as I have with external IRs.

I use mostly my own IR's with it but sometimes I like to mix one of the Neural cabs with one of mine. Sometimes I just have one of my own cabs without another one.

Depends I guess. I've been trying to compare them for myself to see which ones are keepers for me since they let you load your own, it makes for a hard decision as all the amp heads & FX have been top notch.

I should have mentioned since you asked about their cab & mic sections which actually sound great right out the box. But I do like to mix & match them with my own that I have collected.

    Depends on the amp sim.

The Nameless, NTS, Cali etc have one unknown cabinet. The Omega has two Omega cabinets etc

So it really depends whether you like the sound of those cabinets. If you do, there's enough versatility in the mic options and placement options that you'll be able to get what you want.

If you don't like those cabs (i.e. the Omega cab is unique, and people may hate it), then you'd use IRs

Reamping I’ll use their cabs. Playing it, I’ll defeat them and use the Mercuriall cabs in ReAxis. Feels better to me that way.

I'm quite happy with what I have and haven't felt the need to use external IRs.

Not really, I have a bunch but not really use them except a "Death Metal pack" and the Revv 2x12 on Two Notes(cause it's the cab I acually have).

I own Cali and Omega, I find their IR's very good.
But, I use my own also. I suppose it's matter of taste.

My main rhythm tone for now is Cali left and STL AJ right, and with a long signal chain (external pedals/cabs/etc) I can get a marginally better tone, but at a CPU cost that makes it impractical or at least burdensome to use in any actual project. For the most part I've been very impressed by the built-in IRs.

I do sometimes, but like 80% of the time, I use the built in Neural stuff.
