Found this used RG for sale. Since I'm not really knowledgeable about Ibanez guitars I thought I'd ask here to check if anyone has some info on it. Shop claims it's a Japanese Custom Shop RG baritone.

Provided specs are maple wizard neck, mahogany body, quilted maple (???) top, SD humbuckers and an Edge Pro tremolo. Since it obviously doesn't have a quilted top I take the specs with a grain of salt. Serial number is F0142949 which tells us that it was made in the Fujigen plant in 2001.

It also has a 12th fret inlay which I haven't seen anywhere. Maybe it's from an artist/band which custom ordered this guitar? Fretboard looks rosewood?

    Edit: ^oops, ninja-ed.

That's an RG6CSD2. The CSD stands for L.A Custom Shop Designed and like you've noticed, these are actually made in Fujigen Japan and they all have the same 12th fret inlay.

Spec list can be found here.

The single pickup variant, RG6CSD1, can be found here.

Wow thanks for the replies. So it has a 27" scale length. It's pretty cool but price is a bit high for my liking. So yeah they forgot to add the "custom shop designed" text :)

Can you comment on the build quality? Can it compare to let's say, a Prestige?

They were standard MIJ, so yes, it's the same build quality as current Prestige models. The CSD series was intended to bring some of the more popular features that artists were asking the LA custom shop for into production models. Longer scales, pickups Ibanez didn't use at the time, flat finishes, different bridges on some models, etc. There was a cool baritone oil finished S model with a stoptail I came very close to buying.

Only really unique feature of that model is the 27" scale IMO, if you're interested in that it's worth a look, but it looks like that particular one's been pretty well played, so I wouldn't spend too much on it.

Quality is Prestige and maybe over
The "satin' finish is a paticular thing since it's not that common in 2001
(and I'm not fond of it, but if I could put my hands on the red one....)

A guy in my country try to sell one for 1600 euros for years !
Got mine in a...sort of deal I can't comment :fawk:
