I imagine you can dial in a 5150 to be aggressive in a similar way, but the savage starts at kill mode.

I'm up way too early, maybe I'll make a generalized a/b clip (in that I'm not dialling them in to sound identical).

    Awesome purchase.

I am really interested in this amp myself right now, and it's between this or a Diezel Hagen.

There is something about this that is holding me back and it's something so outrageously insane, but the fact that it is 120 watts and only has 2 6550 power tubes really bothers me for some reason hahaha. Even though I know how tubes and tube amps work and I understand that you only need two of those tubes to produce that wattage, something about it still bothers me, I know that sounds insane....because it is! haha

Anyhow, thanks for the review. Congrats on the amp and a pretty rad guitar!

One of.the reasons I bought this amp was to replace the 6550s with KT88's :)

Nice. My perfect live rig would be the Savage mk2 and Peavey Invective run in stereo. Hopefully I'll get the chance to be able to purchase both sometime this year.

Perhaps a bit of an unfair comparison, but how does the wee little Ironball compare?

    You're right...not fair at all.

Until the MT15/G20 came out, I thought it was the best lunchbox amp you could buy. But like many of them, it lacked the low end prescence that big glass provides.

I a little bit jealous. Been listening to youtube demos and its a great amp.

Does the sound remind anyone of the XXX a little bit? I used to own one and Im trying to remember if it sounds like this.
