That was a fun bonus for me in the amp. Ch 3 in either Vintage or Modern with the presence low is also one of the best lead sounds I've ever heard in a Recto, it veers surprisingly close to Mark territory. Great amp - I think it's a more balanced, versatile amp than virtually anything else in the Recto lineup, and while most of them are better at non-metal tones than they get credit for, this one is exceptionally so.

Yeah, I bet those pickups would have made it difficult to play any kind of faster metal. I mean, don't get me wrong, there is a little bit of that recto sag going on, but it is definitely the tightest recto I've played.

Btw, i compared the 6505 to the recto again. The 6505 is so much easier to play, and harmonics burst out with ease, however the gain structure is not as detailed as the recto, and it really does lack that that recto punch. Both are just amazing amps in their own right.

Totally! That's one thing that I just wasn't expecting. Fetching great lead tones on the Roadster is surprisingly easy!

There's something about a good Recto. They have a killer growl. And the note separation on them is generally REALLY good if you keep the gain at 1 o'clock or lower.

Glad you're digging it, dude! Also the brit mode on channel 2 with lots of 'verb was the last thing I was using it for pretty heavily, it really is quite nice!

It's hard to find examples of a Roadster being used live, but I noticed Dustie Waring using one in this live BTBAM set playing the full Colors album:

Adam from Killswitch Engage was using a Roadster live during the Daylight Dies album cycle as well, around 2006-2008 or so. He was also absent from a lot of their tours during that era due to medical issues, so I've only seen a couple of live videos where the Roadster was visible

That's awesome. I didn't know that. Sounds great!

Do any other notable bands use the Roadster, aside from BTBAM, and Killswitch? Would love to hear some studio stuff.

Dream Theater Train of Thought and Petrucci's solo album were Road Kings mixed with a C+. I know Dillinger used Rectos before the Mark Vs and I think they were Roadsters but it might have been a Triple.

Alright, it's been about a month since I've owned the Roadster, and I just wanted make a quick and easy follow up.

All I can say is that my feelings towards the amp have not changed since I bought it. If anything, I have more love and respect for it, because I've gotten to know the amp a bit more, and have found so many tones in this amp that I just love. It's so easy to dial in, and doesn't suffer from that renowned daily Mesa toneshift, lol. "My sound" is on Ch. 3, Vintage mode with the Bold setting on, not using the recto tubes. Love it.

My 6505 has taken the back seat somewhat, but I still play her from time to time.

Anyway, if anyone is thinking about picking one of these up, then don't hesitate! It's been my favorite recto I've ever played.

Happy belated NAD! I looooove my roadster! The amount of tonal options on this amp are just ludicrous, and you're correct - the brit mode is such a sleeper!

Does the Roadster have separate FX loops for each channel?

No sir. Just one (really good) fx loop.

It does have a multi watt and tracking mode for each channel though.

As sevenfoxes mentioned, the Roadster does not. The Road King doesn't, either, but it does offer a second loop, and either loop, both, or neither can be assigned to each channel automatically, as well as manually switched in any time you want.

I also want to elaborate on how nice the clean channel is. The only other high gain amp I've played that had cleans as nice as this was the Archon.
