So Just picked this up today....the guy had two and gave me the one straight out of the box still with plastic on the knobs....

Really nice Tone but as Zimbloth pointed out in the other thread does not have the depth of some other tube amps have an instead is very dry and crunchy....

When I figure out how to work my video player I can upload some terrible videos of me playing for you to laugh at.

Im not entirely happy with it in comparison to my 6505 but well see if I change my mind in the next few weeks...

Rather boring batch of pictures but if you want some more just ask:) Also please excuse my fiancee's leopard print pillows.....not my choice.

Not too much...which is good for me:)

I have to admit though this amp has a super unique tone, like this may have been made especially for death core bands because I can literally get one of the best horror chord sounds out of it ever.... although does not sound good at bedroom volumes.....time to pick up a hotplate....

Good stuff dude :) If you feel like it sounds a bit weird, it could well be worth your while to pick up an additional EQ (boss 10 band or something like that) :yesway: Personally I think they can work fucking wonders...

    I don't believe they're "just a band-aid" for tone either.

Do it :) They make an amp so much more versatile IMO, it's not just a matter of "covering up the bad tone" as "making the good tone fuck-awesome", and giving you more options :yesway:

Diminished 5th or a 2nd probably. 4ths are pretty brutal while still being musical. 4ths with a stacked 5th or minor 3rd is also pretty br00t4l.

    Congrats!
To me, the Krank is a studio amp, not a "live" or rehearsal amp as such, because of the way it feels as you play it.
For reason reason, when it's slotted in a quad tracked mix with an amp like a 5150 or Dual Recto, the Kranks absolutely slay and add this amazing aggressiveness .

By itself, not so amazing IMO, but not bad either.

On a random note after playing through a borrowed hot plate, letting the tubes warm up and playing around with the EQ sweep, I am floored by how good this sounds.

Literally amazing, like a different amp, its unfair to compare to other companies, but I've been able to get a dark evil mesa like tone, a crunchy dry VHT tone, and a highly saturated almost framus like tone, all while being completly unique sounding....

Im gonna play this a few more weeks before I give a full review but right off the bat this amp needs to be (parden the pun) cranked to shine......

    two thumbs up for now.....:yesway:

That's the case with any decent tube amp man, always has to be cranked to sound its best. That's why I keep a HotPlate at the shop at all times. Glad you're digging it more now.

I disagree about the Revolution sounding (or responding) anything like a VHT or Mesa though, for better or worse Kranks do have their own sound.

    haha, jerk ;)

congrats on the new amp man and im glad youre diggin it!!! what you said about the EQ sweep knob is so true, spending time adjusting the sweep is the key to makin these amps sound the best and unlocking their versatility, along with gettin the volume up high. i can only imagine how sick it sounds through your Orange cab.

hows the low end? i know the regular Rev1's had plenty of tight low end, id imagine the 6550's in the Rev1+'s would be even bigger and tighter and would give the amp an overall rounder tone. i know first hand this is true for the Krankenstein+ vs. the regular Krankenstein, so id imagine the same for the Rev1+
