I just got this from the Axe Palace the other day. I didn't need a new amp, but I was shopping for a new cab, so I decided to buy the white Engl Standard cab. A few hours later, I convinced myself that I needed the matching Powerball II, even though I was quite happy with my Powerball V2.

I haven't had much time to compare it to my old Powerball, but so far it's pretty sweet. The separate gain controls make it quite a bit more versatile. On my V2, I rarely ever switched channels because channels 3 & 4 were too similar. So yeah. I dig it. It's a bit more aggressive. On to the pics...

I'm going to miss that cab. I really wasn't really looking to replace it. It looked cool and sounded great, but I splurged on this and it had to go. I still think that Randall XLT cabs are the most underrated cabs out there.

They are a limited edition but i have no idea how many are availabe. Get a hold of Nick at the Axe Palace and ask if he can still get them.

So far, they are fairly similar except the PBII seems to be a bit more aggressive sounding. It's kind of hard to tell because I'm also playing through new and different cab with my old cab being a Randall XLT cab.

Also, the separate gain controls make the PBII much more versatile. On my v2, I rarely switched channels because either the clean or the crunch sucked because of shared gain controls and lead 1 & 2 sounded similar enough to me that I rarely used lead 1.
