I had the Mini Nightmare and thought it felt and sounded cheap. I still would really like to try one of the big amps though. Looking forward to your demo Jon!
The Mini and Purple are virtually the same amp but the big one has the power section doubled allowing you to mix and match two different tube types between the two pairs since the bias on each pair can be controlled separately (which is a cool feature, I think). So the mini is like a half power Purple Nightmare for the most part... You may like the bigger one better due to the effect of the bigger power section and the tube mixing feature... but if you hated the Mini, I'd say you'd be unlikely to completely love the full sized since the preamps are going to be virtually the same (where most of the distortion is coming from) and power amp is basically the same but differs in scale between the two.

I have a mini loaded with KT77 tubes and enjoy it a lot it... It is a pretty hellacious amp in a compact package. Looking forward to Jon's play through on the full size, he tends to make everything sound pretty great so I'm sure it'll get a thumbs up from many here once he does a proper vid.

That sounded great! Cool riffs, as usual. You incorporate a lot of unique intervals in your writing, so it was cool to hear the clean tone on something other than someone slowly strumming a major chord, lol.

I think what I dig most about this, and other amps like it, is that they’re making an attempt to address what the player actually needs. Whenever I say it I catch flack for it, but a built in boost (TS or otherwise), a built in gate, and a reduced wattage switch are cool features to have. Yeah, maybe you want to use a different boost, or gate, etc, but I gotta think a lot of people will be satisfied with what is onboard.

I love that there are KT88s and 6L6s in this. That is a super cool combo for down tuned stuff!

Thanks mate! Yeah, when I ordered the amp Marek asked me about which tubes I wanted and he basically said that this combo is the best for extended range guitars. I love heavy and huge tones so I was all for it! :)

John, do you have a band? I’m wondering where all these sick riffs and tracks from the demos wind up.

All the music is original. I guess my channel is my main outlet but I release a song with my project GhostHour once in a while :)
Yeah, I know it’s original stuff - but you should release more songs! I really like your approach to rhythm and the scale intervals you use. Very cool to listen to. And obviously you can record and mix like a mofo, lol.
