He is also a builder of Violins and Classic/Flamenco guitars with more than 30 years of experience. One day he told me he made the first 7 string ever just before the 90s arrived and earlier he included wood pickups in his guitars. Apparently Fender tried to buy the idea from him, though he rejected it as he believed they wouldn't build them and neither they would allow him to build them himself after the deal was reached. Probably boasting, I don't know, I'm a very sceptic person, though he looks very convincing. He just started a Youtube Channel to explain wood properties and guitar building and he is going to give up the guitar he is building in the video among his subscribers.

He claims that violins and flamenco guitars are easy to build but electric guitars are a pain in the head. He swears making a good electric guitar is very difficult if you have a specific tone in mind you want. He knows wood perfectly because he is a carpenter long before starting building guitars. I find him very interesting and so I share his channel here. It's a shame it is in Spanish, I don't know if you can put subtitles to it in English or something, but is worth watching, the pure voice of experience in guitar builds. The last video is fun, he goes to a house demolition and looks for fine pieces of wood hitting everywhere with little hammer

    I hope you like it:

    Hokum and wizardry.

He's either deluded enough to believe what he's saying, or he's knowingly marketing himself based on what he knows a bunch of gullible rubes already want to believe and he doesn't care about misleading them further.

    Avoid like the plague.

The 7 string is a lot older than 30 years old

Wood does matter, but the degree is subjective.

    Just have fun with it.

Let me know when your builder makes a video saying how much fretwork matters. Otherwise your just going to get an end table.

George Van Eps is credited with developing the 7 string guitar in the '30s...

If he meant the 7-string in general, he's quite a few centuries late. If he meant the electric version of the 7-string, Van Eps did start getting those made for him in the 30s, and the electric solidbody has several examples in the 70's that are known, an Alembic made sometime around '74 or something like that and there were more than one solidbody 7 made for Lenny Breau, although I can't really remember the dates - one was presented at NAMM in 1983, according to @voxhumana's research (and is now duly placed in Wikipedia). I haven't watched the videos yet, but the "I invented the 7-string" bit... nope.

Weren't "proper" scientific studies done that proved different sounds/tones from different woods, at least related to electric guitars, was negligible?

This didn't degenerate into spitting and name calling quickly enough. I am disappoint.

Jokes aside. Anyone claiming to be THE authority on something is automatically suspect until evidence is provided to back it up. Wood has a very minor effect on electric guitars. The differences between different parts of the same tree will be as wide as the differences between different species. Your scale, pickups, and amp will have the greatest over all effect on your basic tone. Lets also not forget your technique.
